We as American can save more lives by not driving while under the influences. Setting a good example for our children in today’s world we need to be a good role model. Driving and drinking are not a good fit. DUI could possibly screw up your life and others. Now is losing your driver license and going to jail really worth it. Drunk driving has been a major problem among American people. Every single year American drive their cars one out of two thousand trips are taken by somebody driving under the influences. In our community are programs to help stop the influences of drunk driving to prevent deaths and injuries. We need to talk our teenager about the important of not drinking while under age. As well the important of driving while under the influences and the effects of this bad habit. That is what MADD, SADD, RID, and mother against drunk driving are trying to achieve among the American people. Just with a little help from those around us and police the laws regarding drunk driving can be improved for the better because just taking away their licenses isn’t enough: 50-75% of them just drive away. In 1980, 21,000 people died from driving under the influences. Since 1980 the deaths and injuries have increased as well decreased over time. But not enough why because in 2011 nearly 32,228 people were involved with drunk driving. We need those numbers to be slower year after year, which can be done if people would just be responsible about drinking and driving. In all 50 states have laws about drunk driving but their two many repeat offenders and not enough action taken against …show more content…
Organization like MADD, SADD, and RID, are helping to put a stop to drunk driving for all age groups. The mother against drunk driving have been making their case known for the past five years in order to remove under influence driver off the road. Thanks to the efforts more police resources have been directed against drunken driving (H. Laurence Ross). In forcing more road blocks, penalties have been increased and plea bargaining put in place. Having this law in place will help against the fight of drunk driving. Why because drinking and driving not only endangers your life, it endangers the lives of the innocent victims whose path you
