Drunk driving, and driving under the influence of any drugs, is a bad idea. But many mistake it for accidents only causing physical damage. But the consequences are far more severe. The most obvious effects of driving under the influence is safety. This not only affects those who do decide to drink, but also those who are driving safely. It is for this reason, that drunk driving is so dangerous to all of us. One driver can affect numerous lives, and even cause multiple fatalities in one crash. It is imperative that we keep these drivers off the roads, and educate them on ways to prevent further instances of it, as well as what to do in the event a crash does happen. These injuries and fatalities are only the start of the damage however. The effects are far more drastic, as one death in a family can result in severe financial, and especially emotional damage, leading to even worse decisions, such as suicide. One can see a crash as a chain of events, stemming from the incident, and reaching much further into the families affected, resulting in far more harm than the physical damage of the crash itself.
