Drought problem in California.
I. California is in one of the worst droughts in its history. 1. Climate is major factor of drought. a. Climatologists record winter 2014 is hottest year in CA. b. Occurrences paucity of the snowpack. c. Absence of rains lead to unusual dry winter. 2. Difference in residence water conservation between north and south of state. a. Gov. Jerry Brown declared a drought emergency state. b. Meetings of community leaders for ideas to save more water. II. Drought impacts divided on two stages. 1. Short-term drought impact a. Immediate impacts b. California is one of the largest agricultural regions in the world. c. Region is running out of groundwater. 2. Long-term drought impact a. Possible increase of wildfires. b. Water allocation could cause changes in wildlife. c. Full transformations and changes of the whole region.
III. Proper management of water supplies. 1. Government and public attention to problem. 2. Residential cuts of water use. 3. Spreading awareness of water importance in region.
