In many ways I can relate to lawrence, Sparkle, Marcus and Marco. Everyday at school there are the same kind of problems that all of the students in dropout nation are having. For example how sparkle has a kid and left school, or how Marcus was always high and late for school, and how Lawrence had anger issues and went off on a lot of people even the ones that tried to help him. Students at my school come into school high and late for classes, most of them have anger issues and they will go off on teachers when they try to help. Students in our school will give up when things get hard. The teachers and principal still try and help because they care about the students and they want them to graduate.

Respect means a lot of different things. The actual definition of respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities,qualities, or achievements. To me respect means to listen to people when they are talking to you and to let them know you care about what they have to say.
What affect does my attitude about “life in general” have on how i can achieve my overall plan? I think your attitude has a lot to do with it. If you have a bad attitude then you're not going to get anywhere because no one wants someone with a bad attitude. If you have a good attitude and your always positive then you will be able to accomplish anything because people will want to work with with other people if they have a good attitude.
When i watched dropout nation i interpreted that the characters Marcus, Sparkle, Marco, and lawrence all had similar characteristics. Their similarities were they all wanted to give up at one point. Also, none of them thought that they would graduate high school. Their backgrounds were similar to. They came from places where you didn't think they would graduate, their parents and other members from their family did not graduate from high school, so none of them thought that they would graduate. They had a principal whose name was Rob, Also a counselor whose name is Brandi, she let marcus live with her so he would go to school and be there on time. Even though the staff tried and tried and tried to help all the other students they still didn't make any effort to even try to finish school. Sparkle moved and didn't finish school. Marcus was a junior and went to school the next year. Lawrence went to twilight and dropped out three days later. Marco is the only one that graduated and he went to the military right after.
For me to improve my overall academic and personal performance, I'm going to stay out of the drama. If I stay out of drama I will be able to stay focused and be able to to do my work and turn it in on time. I'm never going to give up. If I don't give up then I can never fail and I will make it through high school and graduate. I will be able to go to college and have a good life. Therefore I can never say I gave up and I will never give
