driving letter
Dear Mom and Dad,

I’ve really been thinking about this whole driving incident, These past few days have made me see it differently. I’ve learned that this isn't necessarily about keeping insurance rates down or keeping a good reputation, Head injuries are extremely common in car accidents and after seeing what happened to Zack, I could never let you guys go through that. Doing what I did, and driving how I used to, is a good way to critically injure myself, or someone else… What has happened to Zack has really showed me that I’m not invincible, and things can happen to anyone at anytime no matter who you are. This has really shown me that I need to be even more responsible than I originally thought. My first impressions on getting ungrounded was that I just wouldn't get any tickets or screw around anymore, but now I realize I need to protect myself as well as others on the road. I promise there will be no more bending the rules and breaking your laws and the state of Florida laws. I’ve realized there is a much deeper message in this than just paying my tickets and being grounded. I’ve come up with a system that could be used to keep me in check, and make things easier for you guys. It should also really help me gain my trust back. I might be the closest thing to hell you've ever raised but I need to learn from my mistakes and pave the way for the man I have to become, because I can’t stay a boy forever.

Basically how this would work is we would have a points system. Originally, to get a truck I had to drive incident-free for 6 months, obviously I screwed that up. I thought about just doubling the time to 12 incident-free months, but I realized that wouldn't be enough for you guys to consider. So instead, we would have a 120 point system. To get a truck, I must acquire 120 points. I can acquire 10 points a month, so at bare minimum, it would take me a course of 12 months to get a truck. There would be a chart like this. This is a great system because I can

It was summer 2016 in sunny Gulfport, Mississippi when I drove for the first time. We lived right on the water, so the roads were sharp and depended on the water. My dad has an unbelievably short temper, and I knew that my driving was going to push him off the edge. I knew that I wasn’t going to be fantastic at driving. I got in the car anyways seeming confident thinking that maybe I wouldn’t be as horrible as I thought.…

This is a formal letter used to send information out to external parties. This specific letter is used to engage students in an exciting opportunity and potential career option. Letters are used by all in the public services and this letter that I have has been given is used by someone in the armed forces as they need to tell the headteachers about an excellent challenge for their students. Letters like this are used to inform someone about a meeting that will be happing at a certain time and day and where it will be at. In the RAF this would be a normal form of communication that they would use to inform one another of important dates coming up, but in the normal day an e-mail would suffice.…

I, Courtney have been working for the Defensive Driving School for teens for 20 years; because of my occupation, I know common mistakes teenagers make while driving. Common mistakes that I’ve seen are, improper lane changing, changing lanes in an intersection, lack of steering control, and distracted driving. Since I see these mistakes daily, I try to avoid these things to stay out of accidents. On October 29th, I was leaving Chick fil a from picking up my late lunch, it was around two o’clock in the afternoon. After I pulled out of the parking lot a red dodge ram pulled out behind me. Before I knew it, I saw the accident unfold before my eyes. In my professional opinion, I appeared that Tom was distracted by his passenger. Kay was…

SAMANTHA PIERCE 14 Brattle Street Cambridge, MA 02138 (617) 495-3108 spierce@jd13.law.harvard.edu December 1, 2010 Miriam A. Nunberg Staff Attorney U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights 32 Old Slip, 26th Fl. New York, NY 10005-2500 Dear Ms. Nunberg: I am a first-year student at Harvard Law School and am writing to apply for a volunteer summer internship with the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights in New York City. I learned about your organization through Harvard Law School's public service database and through Harvard students who have interned at branches of the OCR in other cities. Interning at the OCR would allow me to continue my commitment to civil rights in education, and I feel confident that I could contribute substantively to the work of your office while strengthening the skills I’ll need for a career in education law. As a senior at Cornell University, I wrote an honors thesis on the politics of bilingual education in California and New York, focusing on strategies for protecting minority students’ language rights. Because my career goal is to work on language issues, and discrimination generally, in American education, I wrote my master’s thesis on language policy in Spanish schools in order to gain knowledge of how other countries handle these complex issues. This semester, I’ve gotten involved with Harvard Law School’s Advocates for Education, as well as the Child and Youth Advocates, organizations which have exposed me to the work lawyers can do to promote education rights. Additionally, joining the Latino Law Review has kept me updated on the issues facing minority students. My work with the Harvard Defenders has begun to give me experience in public interest litigation, and working at the OCR would allow me to gain experience advocating for the specific client populations I hope to assist in my career. Because of my familiarity with language issues and New York’s bilingual education policies,…

I am writing to express my keen interest in the position of assistant manager at Pandora Jewelry. The job description you have provided for this position is an ideal match with my skills and qualifications. My love for Pandora started when I got my first high school job at 17, where I was merchandising the store as well as selling. My integrity was displayed when I took on the responsibilities of being a key holder. My duties consisted of, opening and closing the store, dealing with the nightly deposits, and making sure everything is locked up safe and sound. After I graduated high school I decided to enroll at Austin Community College in Austin, TX. Once I started seeking employment the first place that came to mind was Pandora. I searched online to find out where the store was located and was shocked to see it that it was in a mall. When I approached the store I was a bit intimidated by its size. Keep in mind the store I had previously worked was less than half of its size! I walked in and was immediately greeted by the sweetest girl named Whitney. I told her I was out looking for a job and this was my first stop. I informed her about all of my experience and when I mentioned I worked on the visuals she stopped me and said, how perfect…that’s what I do and I will leaving soon. I filled an application out that day and got the job two weeks later. Since being employed at Barton Creek I have successfully met all goals while maintained great customer service. The store offers different incentives through out the year; one being if you maintained an ADS higher than $130.00 you got an iPad mini. I was the sole recipient to the iPad mini. One of my biggest assets is my ability to effectively communicate with management, other associates, and customers. With The 5 years of experience that I’ve gained through Pandora I am confident that I have what it takes to be an excellent Assistant Manager.…

A week before becoming a college student I went on a road trip to New Orleans. On my way back, I was captain of the ship. Driving the car back wasn’t so simple, on the contrary, I discovered a button called “Cruise Control” on the wheel. Cruise control is a button located on steering wheel that can be turned on to make the vehicle set off on a constant speed the driver likes. Which made the drive back to Miami way effortless. I was so excited to discover this control that I wanted to practice it on my car, however, I consciously didn’t think about the consequences and caused an accident on my way to…

It was late August early September year 2010 when I first drove I started off on a dirt road in Lathan, Alabama. It was 80 degrees, “I’m nervous” I’m saying to myself “I’m only fifteen”. My grandfather (paw-paw) says to me “Domonique you can do it you have to learn someday, it’s best to start off young learning” I didn’t know if I was more nervous than driving or driving along. So I took a deep breath in went through with it, I was doing well until I was coming around a curve in didn’t realize a mailbox was on side of a curb. Before I knew it “BANG” I ran into the mailbox, a fence, and a garbage can. The cause of that happening was because I was already nervous about driving; it was new to me by coming around a curb I was just getting use…

We all know we have been at fault at some point; we do it without thinking about it. When our phone rings our first instinct is to answer it, when we pick up McDonalds we eat it, we see a pimple we cover it. Most of us don’t think about the consequences that are to come along if we do them while driving. According to studies released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, 80% of crashed and 65% of near-crashed involves some kind of driver distraction. Driving with distractions has become one of today’s leading causes of death for 16-20 year olds. Distractions while driving includes texting, note taking, applying makeup, eating, and much…
