Dreams and Aspirations
Dreams and aspirations The world offers many dreams and aspirations that one can possibly have or be committed to. Someone’s dreams and aspirations are sometimes built and made by their life’s story, past, future, present, emotions, accomplishments, inspirations, and experiences. These traits are key for a person’s reasons to live or to do whatever they need to do, their goals and dreams. Like everybody else I also hold my dreams my aspirations that I’d like to live and achieve. Accomplishing this you need the reason and the commitment and will to keep moving forward and achieve what you desire. In my life I’ve seen the bad and the good. Watching and learning how my society works I’ve learned how to shape the world around me in a manner that will benefit me and help me make the right decisions or choices. Society or community at times plays a big role in a person’s life, u get to see many shattered dreams and also accomplished realities. As a child and even now I see how my friends and family fail in their lifetimes because of bad choices and unsecure decisions. Once I have learned how society works I have learned how to shape society around me in way that will only benefit me and help me reach my goals. Society takes a big part in my life like it does to many. I grew up in a low middle class society here in Oxnard California where people tend to do many crimes and morally behavior to keep their families afloat and stable from being financially broken. Even though my family was never financially broke we did like all families have our tough times. In my family me and my brothers would be the second generation of Mexican decent here in California. Knowing this you will understand that most of my family didn't graduate High school because they spent most of their childhood in and out of the United States and into Mexico so their education was random and unstable, so they weren't able to finish school in a normal

To some people, the American Dream is power, wealth, fame, and influence. Most with this dream are willing to do almost anything to achieve these things, but there have been many times where “willing to do anything” has been taken too far. There have been Presidents, celebrities, and just everyday average people that have lied and deceived others to make sure that nothing comes between them and their dream. Lies and deceit ruin lives, and destroy the American Dream.…

My goals for this class is that I want to understand more about how people feel about ethics and if they want to change them. If they want to change them, then why do they want to change them, and what would they change them to. My only fears are that maybe the instructor does not put enough information out about the assignments on what should be done. That even after I contact the instructor and ask questions that I believe will help clarify the assignment, I still will not understand the concept behind the assignment and how I should go about writing or completing it to get the full credit on the assignment.…

For many years people have immigrated to the United States in search of “The American dream.” But what is The American Dream? Well, I believe that is completely up the individual. The American dream may mean different things to different people, however, to me; the American dream is the right to an education, for all American, without the worry of having wealth, or the means to pay for that education. Shikha Dalmia, “Americans, hit first by outsourcing and then a recession, are becoming deeply pessimistic about their country’s ability to maintain its economic leadership in a globalized world” (83). I have heard it said before, “Knowledge is power!”…

Everyone! Come to America! You will have a life of happiness and riches! This what people usually consider the American dream, having a good steady job, owning a house, and making enough money for their family and themselves. Just having a happy life for their family and themselves. Many people consider the American Dream to still be alive and still present in today’s society but many also believe that the American Dream is nonexistent. In this essay I will be shedding light on how the authors, Bob Herbert, Brandon King, and Cal Thomas see the American Dream. Bob Herbert considers the American dream to be completely dead. He thinks that no matter how you define the American dream, there is not much left at all (Herbert 564). Cal Thomas on the other hand still believes that the American dream is still alive but it had changed. He thinks it has become more idealistic. He thinks the dream has boiled down to acquiring more material wealth rather than being stable middle-class people (Brandon 573). Cal Thomas also thinks that the American dream is alive but he thinks that it has a lot of falling family value that used to come with the seemly American dream. In society today he thinks the dream is defined as achieving greater prosperity and consuming more material goods (Thomas 568). People today strive to accomplish their own interpretation of the American Dream, but the reality is that some people do not even believe the American dream still exist. It is up to you do determine if you really consider the American dream to still be alive.…

Having set goals has given me direction in my life and has helped me figure out what I want to do and where I want to go in life. I have also come to the conclusion that goals are an important aspect of life and are very helpful in planning my life as long as the goals I set are realistic.…

Ambition is the decision one makes and the resolution with which he carries out that decision. It provides us with the required driving force to accomplish any undertakings in our life. Just as Joseph Epstein, a famous American writer put it, “And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed.” Indeed, once we make up our minds to choose to do something, then our life becomes meaningful and specifically orientated. This notion of life, as far as I observe, is closest to truth and does apply to almost all aspects of life.…

The song “Tatsulok” by Bamboo is about a system of corruption and oppression brought about by the triangle of power that we are now living in. In the Philippines, the effects of this “triangle” can be vividly seen throughout the country; murders, stolen funds, mistaken identities and poverty-stricken people because of corruption. The song gives a clearer sound to what the country is crying for and why the people of this country are suffering and being punished with injustice every day. People are blinded with the notion that racism is the enemy and color and birthplace is the center for injustice but we are gravely mistaken because as long as there is poverty to be seen, and justice to be given only to the rich and powerful, nothing good will come to our country and to our people. I am growing up in a country with officials that are like wolves where they stalk on the easiest prey at the blink of an eye, it would surprise me if one of them would do something out of pure charity, “being truly generous” is starting to be extinct, with the way our system is progressing. The true nature of this “triangle” is that it all favors to who is on top and respectively, it all disfavors to who is at the bottom and because of this; we are continually being pulled down by our own wrongdoings. A country that lives with two faces, a face which does everything to help the people, and a face that works in the dark to pull strings in self-favor. I have seen how this triangle works and I can personally say that as time passes, the gap between the top and bottom is starting to distance further, which can mean only one thing; the prosperity of the people and the economy is determined by the battle between the two faces of a nation that thrive in a triangle of power.…
