Case organisation

Dragon Boat Racing Store (DBRS) is a small owned business with fifteen (15) employees, and it has been in operation for the past six (6) years. The company is located in the compound of the Trinidad and Tobago Sailing Association, and they are one of the few dragon boat racing sports retail outlet in Trinidad and Tobago (Howard, 2017). The owner, Mr. Anthony Howard, started this business because of his passion for the sport, since there were few suppliers locally that procures and sells dragon boating equipment, accessories and apparel in the local market. DBRS’s main goal is to have local market dominance and in the future, have regional expansion in the field of dragon boating equipment, accessories, and apparel.

The system will benefit the staff to have an easy control of goods in the store and what is in the warehouse. In addition, it is aimed to provide accurate information on products and it will be an easier way to effectively calculate products sold and balance of stock. Employees will be motivated to adopt the new system since it will be an easier way to manage the inventory. The report is also aimed at providing an enhanced customer service experience at DBRS by implementing an inventory management system which will have the ability to generate reports, maintain the balance of the stock and have details about the purchase and sales in the …show more content…
As such, the case study presented above allowed the student to closely examine all of the relevant issues as it pertains to inventory management and what is currently taking place within the organisation. As such, a conclusion will be drawn and the key findings and implications will be sought as it pertains to whether if an inventory management system should be implemented at
