James Bond: How the Writers And Directors Met The Expectations Of The Audience

“The names Bond, James Bond” This is probably one of the most famous signifiers ever and it is the biggest film to ever come out of Britain! With Amazingly witty and powerful characters it’s no surprise! But what really are the ingredients to this amazing film that never disappoints? We watched 3 different James Bond films which were ‘Dr No, Die Another Day and Casino Royale’ The Antagonist James Bond was played by a different actor each time which brought a lot of differences to each film. Dr No was the first James bond film to be made and was very successful the use of camera angles were very well chosen and complimented the scene that they were for. As the film …show more content…
James bond was introduced to us at a casino table and we first saw his hands shuffling a deck of cards after this we saw him but an over the shoulder shot was used so we still only saw the back of his head, this left us wanted to know what does James Bond look like then we finally saw his face. With his witty one liners James picked up a lady straight away and they both left the building together. James quickly got to work in Jamaica and was trying to find out information on Dr No who was thought to have been making nuclear weapons. When he realised there was none he went out to an island just off Jamaica were Dr No’s chemical plant was. When he arrived he met women named honey rider who was out collecting shells. We were introduced to this character with the first ever James Bond water entrance which saw Honey coming out of the sea and coming to meet James. She quickly found refuge with James and eventually became the first ever Bond

A savage journey to the heart of the American dream.<br><br>Before one can review the motion picture "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", he must first research the full length novel of the same name. The book first appeared in 1971 in issues 95 and 96 of Rolling Stone magazine, published November 11th and 25th respectively. Although the two part series stated its author was someone called Raoul Duke, the story was copyrighted in 1971 by Hunter S. Thompson. Raoul Duke is actually the false name under which Hunter Thompson portrays himself as main character and narrator.<br><br>The film was produced in the early goings of summer in 1998 almost as a tribute to the re-release of the novel in June. Directed by Monty Python's Flying Circus animator Terry Gilliam [12 Monkeys], the film was received quite poorly in the box office and even by the counterculture which was its target audience.     The famous philosopher Friedrich Nietzche once stated, “When you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.” Implying the fact that when one strives to overcome a force, there is a possibility that one may naturally be altered into being similar to the force they struggle against. In the process of analyzing this quote, one can compare the two protagonists Winston and V. from 1984 and V. for Vendetta, to comprehend which of the two is more affected by the corrupt authority around him. In numerous ways, Winston can be seen as the more affected of the two. In 1984, Winston is often willing to sacrifice others for his own pleasures and gain. In his youth, Winston devours the little amount of food his family has, sacrificing his hungry mother and sick sister, to quench his uncontrollable appetite, “At every meal she [Winston’s mother] would beseech him not to be selfish and to remember that his little sister also needed food…he was starving the other two” (Orwell 132). Later on in the novel, when Winston can no longer endure O’Brien’s tortures, he screams, “Do it to Julia! Do it to Julia! Not me!” (Orwell 227), sacrificing his lover, Julia, for his own well-being. Contrastingly, V. sacrifices himself for the good of others. When V. makes a deal with Creedy of handing over Adam Sutler, the chancellor, he already knows that Creedy is planning to kill him as well after the chancellor is dead. However, because V. is sure that the oppressive society will not improve if either Creedy or the chancellor is alive, V. forfeits his own life to kill them both. As a result of this, the people of the tyrannical society are able to enjoy their newly acquired freedom (McTeigue 2006). While V. sacrificed himself for the benefits of the citizens of London, Winston sacrificed his family and his lover for his own gains.
