Discuss the following Statement and give specific examples to support it.
Don't burn your bridges."

Don't burn your bridges is an old say by a Sociologist name albeit. Which is a wise quote and piece of advice. I know god has a plan for all of us are similar to that old say. Don't burn your bridges" generally means don't leave on bad terms like for example a job or relationship etc; like on your last day of work you should go to work early and give 100%. This is how you will be good in supporting the network or organization for the future and be able to use that job for reference or get a good recommendation for another job or career that you want to pursue. Your destination is in control of your life. It's really up to you to make the right decision or choose a path that you want to go to. If you don't give it your all, you will always wonder if you could. You will never know whom you will meet or meet again by making poor decisions in life. By you never being tempted to tell people what you really think of them in a respectful way is another way you don't burn your bridges. Several years ago I graduated from high school and entered community college to start my studies for pre-med, but as I grew closer to graduation I saw the challenges in this career path. Then, I decided to change the major to Nursing in order for my credits to transfer from premed and make years spent in college less than in the Premed program. Both careers are highly competitive and honored in all countries of this world. My main goal is to join a profession that will help me interact with people and show people Christ’s love for all humankind through myself. It’s a blessing to help people with their problems and be by their side when they need it as God does in our lives. So, now I having difficulties with standing with my decisions and believing that I will overcome these failures. I want my purpose in life to follow with what God wants me to do and not feel pressured by family or society. There are times in my life when I feel hopeless and abandoned by everyone. I want to stay strong, but my emotions take over me and cause me emotional distress. This allows me to lose faith and trust in God when nothing seems to be going the way I want in life.…

There is a fire that ignites within me when I talk about my aspirations in life. A fire that burns so brightly that it can not only be seen physically in the way my hazel eyes light up, but felt radiating from my soul through the conversations that others have with me. Even when I was younger this fire always burned within me to better the world and aid those suffering in it. For some of my friends this same fire manifested into them becoming doctors, for me however it manifested into becoming a marine mammal veterinarian.…

“To embark on the journey towards your goals and dreams requires bravery. To remain on that path requires courage. The bridge that merges the two is commitment” Dr. Steve Mariboli. In the book, although Siddhartha is on many different paths, he has his goals of attaining pure bliss. No matter what path he is on, he focuses in on his goal, and strives towards it. In my life, I have been on different paths already, and know I will encounter many more in life. Soon, I will transition from the path I am currently on, to the path I will be on during my college years. I will always strive towards my goals and commit myself to the path I am currently on.…

As a high school student there’s a lot of work and event’s going on. Whenever someone says “so what are you doing after high school”? I always say I don’t know. Sometimes it helps me to think what I don’t want to do and it narrows it down for me. My dad has been in the fire department for 30 years and he’s always saying I should follow in his footsteps. I would love to commit to a job like everyone else, but I feel like once I get older my mind will change. My post-secondary goals are still unclear, but not because I don’t know what to do. It seems like there are a lot of careers I would fit into and would excel at. So why would I commit to one now. By the end of high school, I will pursue a career and I can see if I like it or not. I have spent my whole childhood thinking about playing college football but I don’t really see a…

Everyone who is in my life are meant to be in my journey, but not all of them are meant to stay until the end. People that I use to call my friends are no longer my friends. I have always been told that I will be lonely sometimes, but to trust the Lord because he will provide me with enough confront and security to last me a lifetime. I believe that one day God will send me friends that will not only support me, but push me into my destiny, and be that shoulder to lean on when I need one. It is common to lose the ones you call your friends once entering into adulthood. I have been taught that people, places, and things are going to change in life, but we must learn to embrace change, because a part of growing up is growing…

What I do know is that I don't want to wake up ten, fifteen years from now with the bitter realization that I've wasted my life in a job I hate, because I was forced to decide on a career while I was still a teenager. I can only hope and pray that Jesus leads me in the right direction. But just because I may not know what I want to do in the future,it doesn't mean I don't know what kind of person I want to be. I want to be someone who helps people, someone who people can look up to, and can depend on. I feel like there aren't enough genuinely good people in this world, that they are few and far in between. The one genuinely good person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting was my mother, and sadly I won't be able to meet her for a long while. She was a wonderful woman and mother, and is my inspiration. I want to become one of those genuinely good people, like my mother, and I fell like the perfect place to discover how to become that person is at a university. The only thing I'm certain of is that I am a seventeen year old girl looking to get a good education, to learn everything there is to know about the world, and to live my life happy and without any…

The article “Are You Deciding On Purpose” about the interview of author, speaker, and counselor Richard Leider really made me think about my life and what I want to do with myself. Leider brings up many great points in the interview and it was an eye opener for me after I finished reading the article. The first thing he mentions in the interview is how people are intimidated by all the choices we have now as career options. Nowadays, there are so many career paths to choose from that it overwhelms people and the decisions that they make. I think this is true for everyone and especially me. I thought about this for a while and I too do not have any idea what I want to do in my life. I have changed my mind many times about what I wanted to do as a career and I always thought about the money. After I finished reading the article, I realized that picking a career path is not all about the money. It’s about whether you enjoy what you are doing because you spend 60% of your entire life working. If I spent 60% of my entire life just working to pay the bills, I would be miserable by the time I’m retired because there wasn’t any satisfaction or fulfillment for me. I still don’t have any clue on what I want to do with my life but reading this article really changed my mind on a lot of things.…

Looking around today’s society, it’s clear that we as a country and as a generation are painfully uncertain. In our careers, we question whether we are chasing our true calling and whether we should have travelled another path. In relationships, we run into the paradox of craving a maintained closeness with those we know with a desire to meet others. We question our abilities, our skills. We complain about our problems and feel entitled to solutions, but in our own indecisiveness we fail to effect any true change for ourselves and for those around us.…

Through the mistakes people make, I learn life's most valuable lessons. My friends understood my philosophy but they saw me as soulless for seeing people’s mistakes as good. As a child, I watched the mistakes my relatives made within their families, which caused their children to be taken into custody. Although I felt sorry for the family at the time, I made sure I used their mistakes to direct my path. I never would want my family to be at a continuous feud. To me, not making mistakes is the biggest mistake one can make. My parents, especially, made many errors that resulted in them not being as successful. Therefore, I dream to obtain a profitable career and live an accomplished life so I won't encounter the same potholes people around me fell…

Everyone in life will have their own personal obstacles they will have to face in life. Some people will mentally shut down and give up when faced with a challenge. Others will take their challenges and use them to better themselves. The obstacles that I have faced in my life have never hit me harder than they have these past few months. This being my senior year, I always expected it to be the most laid back and relaxing year of my high school career. When in fact I set myself up for one of the biggest challenges of my life so far, by signing up for multiple online college classes, helping out with activities all over the school, and playing football for the first time since freshman year. Although, under all this immense pressure, this is where my true colors came out. I didn’t stop working to my full potential,…

A great man named Henry Ford once remarked, “Obstacles are those frightening things you see once you take your eyes off your goals.” This is a quote that is continuously pushing me as I see life through different people's eyes. I can read someone's emotions and see what they’re seeing just by a simple glance at them. I’ve been lost many times before, not knowing what I will make of my life, but just the other day, I realized that I have so much time ahead of me and I need to make the best use of it.…

At one point in my life, before I entered into high school, I did not know the direction I was heading to. A time where, I felt, I did not have an exact purpose in life; where I did not care what could happen to me or anyone else. I did not try my best in anything, I gave up too fast at everything, I never tried to push through anything. My carelessness, at the time, did not do any good for me or my future. I struggled too much at the time and I did not try anything to push through in any way, shape, or form. During this time I reached one of the lowest points in my life where I never would want to end up again.…

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be, but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way. Some people come into our lives and quickly go, while others move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave Imprints in our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. These are the people who enter our lives with a unique lesson to teach us. And it is only through these lessons that we learn about life, people, relationships, and ourselves. So appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Look beyond the masks people wear if you want to know their heart, and remove your own masks to let people know yours. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don’t believe in yourself; it will be hard for others to believe in you. Everything is possible with heart and dedication. Try every thing once, there are times when we must quit something, but call it “letting go of loose ends.” Communication is key, love with all your heart. Live the life that makes you feel complete, makes you happy, and makes you wake up every morning with a smile. There's always something to learn, someone to meet, and something extraordinary to tell. It's about finding a meaning and sharing a story. Create the person you want to be in this world and in this life, and share the experiences…
