The purpose of this poster is to show the devastating effects of Domestic Violence. The issue of Domestic Violence is that most people aren’t aware about it or are too afraid to speak out. The intense topic of Domestic Violence is one rarely spoken of, in my poster I was hoping to evoke the feeling of horror and to make it easier for people to break free from these relationships as they have support from their families and friends. We raise awareness by increasing the understanding of the impact of domestic violence, and providing programs and education that drive that change. The motivation behind this poster is to demonstrate the horrifying impacts of Domestic Violence.

One women is killed every week by a former partner or current.’ Power in a violent relationship is a huge influence if someone can manipulate the victim into staying quiet out of fear for safety or making them feel insignificant and small. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and White Ribbon, domestic violence is one of the most chronically underreported crimes. ‘Only 25% of all physical assaults, 20% of all rapes, and 50% of all stalking perpetrated against females by their partners are reported to the police.’ Clearly this is a problem. This happens due to the offender scares the victim into staying quiet by threatening them or their families or brainwashing them into thinking it's the victims fault.
