OUTLINE
Introduction: Domestic Violence is a crime that is growing every year. I am very concerned about justice for anyone that is a victim of domestic violence by a loved one. My purpose is to outline a crime victim policy for these victims. I intend to define these victims clearly, point to statistics relative to the crimes against them, analyze the context in which the crime occurs, state how victims might contribute to the crimes against them, describe the impact of the crime on society, and list proposed victim assistance to back up my new victim policy.
I. Everyone who has been a victim of Domestic Violence will be included in this policy A. Domestic Violence includes but not limited to physical acts that result in injury, mental abuse, sexual abuse, neglect by an individual for control purpose. B. Statistics and myths and why they are wrong C. Who is abused? D. Different types of abuse. II. There are different ways that victims go through the abuse process.

A. Seek help and Counseling B. Fight back C. Help other victims III. Other consequences are impacted by this violence A. Children B. Health C. Phychological IV. The policy is committed to protect and support victims of domestic violence A. Identify the victim B. Refer them to counseling, shelter, or other services V. Programs that a victim can be entitled to A. Housing B. Cash Assistance C. Medical VI. Harsh Penalties for Offenders A. Longer sentences for 1st Time Offenders B. Restitution to Victims
