Domestic cat skull
Compare and contrast between the niche of the species. Domestic Cat: The domestic cat could easily live without humans. It is likely that they would thrive
The skeleton produces blood cells. Red bone marrow contains stem cells that produce all of the blood cells.…
Mrs. Debbie Morgan is a 45-year-old female who works as a secretary for a big corporation. While going to the stock room to pick up some supplies for a meeting, a large box falls on her and brings her to the ground. The ambulance personnel reported that she had lost quite a bit of blood at the accident scene and was “knocked out” when they arrived.…

All fieldwork, data processing and analysis were completed in-house by Ipsos-Reid Corporation, formerly known as Angus Reid Group. In addition to the attitudinal segmentation of pet owners, the main focus of the analysis is by the type and number of pets owned. The two major areas of the study are Pet Health and Pet Food. This report presents the main findings of the study in summary charts and tables. The complete statistical cross-tabulations of the results have been reported under separate cover. A copy of the questionnaire is appended. In addition to the Paws & Claws survey, a supplementary omnibus research was conducted in April 2001 with 1000 adult Canadians nation-wide to determine the incidence of pet ownership and attitudes toward pet…
The discovery of the Comb jelly which was the first animal fossil was a shocking and unexpected event to most scientists in the world. Scientists had a specific view about evolution. They thought that organisms evolve from a simple state to a more complex state. But that was not the case for the comb jelly which unlike what scientist thought was a very complex specie. It was so complex that it had a nervous system and tissues. But that was not the only misconception that they had to face. Another problem was that scientist believed for so long that the sponge was the first animal fossil, but this discovery has changed the order of species in the tree of life. They could not find the date of when Comb jellies have first existed. But if there existence predates the existence of…
When ever anyone gets a athletic dog or any dog really they always have to watch out for canine hip dysplasia. "Canine Hip Dysplasia is the most common hereditary skeletal disorder in dogs (Fels, 2014) ", some of the dogs that get it most often are Golden retrievers and German shepherds, along with water dog breeds. With this kind of problem in dogs if it is not treated right away it could get out of control and be a lot worse then when it first started out to be. There is this collie-shepherd cross breed dog named Charm that came into a animal hospital with canine hip dysplasia and from what was put in the file it seemed very severe. The dog named Charm came in for a visit to the hospital on the fifth of February 2016 and the dog was having trouble getting up with its hind legs from the past couple months, the owner noticed as well that their dog Charm was chewing at its hind leg, they also noticed that its back leg has gotten really big and swollen over the past couple of months as well.…
There are on average 206 individual bones in an adult human skeleton, which are both metabolically active and highly vascularised. Bones have many important roles within the human body, for example they provide structure and support for the fleshy tissue, protection of vital organs eg the brain in the cranial cavity, storage for vital materials eg calcium and phosphorus and also enables movement of the body as the bones provide a surface for ligament, muscles and tendons to attach to. The bones also play a role in blood production of both white and red blood cells as bone marrow is stored in the central cavity of long bones. The 206 individual bones can be divided in to 5 subgroups of bone, these are;…
The skeletal system can suffer from a few diseases one of the most common ones is Osteoporosis another one is Osteogenesis imperfecta. Osteoporosis affects in a progressive way that deteriorates bone mass. Making the bones weaker lacking density and causing to have the deficiency on the bones protein intake this can bring about to the one who has it more vulnerable to skeletal fractures. Osteogenesis imperfecta disturbs the connective tissue or the ability of building it making the bones brittle in way more defenseless to wounds. Both this conditions are critical and need to be treated on the notion of knowing one suffers from them.…

By the Miocene, twenty million years ago, canines and felines had separated into two families. Scientists use fossil records, which means that scientists look for evidence of the organism’s ancestors through ancient bones and other remains that have been preserved by the earth over long periods of time. For the Canis lupus, the evidence confirmed their evolution, yet is still incomplete. Scientists have tracked the changes in skull shape and size, limb length, teeth, and evidence of changes in wolf population along with habitat distribution over time. In fact, the researchers’ use of the fossil record has tracked that ancient wolves from North America crossed the land bridge to Eurasia and established there then evolved into Canis lupus before returning to North America. An example of the use of fossil records of the evolution of the wolf shown in Tomarctus, a presumed ancestor of the wolf. The fifth toe on the ancestor’s hind leg became vestigial and is evidenced today by the dew claw on both wolves and dogs. As these wolves survival rate inclined with these adaptations, their population decreased. Today, there are only…
Firstly, we believe skull number one is Homo habilis. H. habilis is about 2.4 to 1.5 million years old. This skull has a small supraorbital brow ridge and no sagittal crest. The nasal bones were flat and the facial prognathism is in between. The canines do not jut and a canine diastema is not present. This specimen also had a centered foramen magnum and its facial prognathism was in between. Although the appearance is somewhat apelike, this was the first skull to have a centered foramen magnum, therefore an upright posture. This leads us to believe that it was one of the earlier ancestors of modern humans, the Homo habilis.…
The example is of Mary Leakey’s discovery of footprints in volcanic ash at Laetoli in Tanzania. Here, three sets of footprints were discovered that display “the raised arch, rounded heal, pronounced ball, and forward pointing big toe necessary for walking erect.” (Longino & Doell, 213) Adding to the evidence, the distance between the footprints and pressure shown are indicative of a striding gait. From this evidence, Leakey determined that only an upright, fully bipedal creature could have created those prints. Using organic material imbedded in the prints, Leakey could date the footprints to 3.59-3.77 million years ago. Since bipedalism is the determination for hominid status, we can determine with certainty that hominids developed as early as 3.59 million years ago. This settled the debate over whether a larger brain or bipedalism developed first (Agnew & Demas). These footprints are close to 1 million years older than the earliest known stone…
Sky Barragan, daughter of a good friend of mine is the child I observed for this written evaluation. Sky is four years old with a birthday quickly approaching this upcoming July. The observation took place at a local park in Pasadena that Sky frequents quite regularly for play time. We arrived at the park at approximately nine fifty in the morning and left the park at ten thirty. The park is about five acres and located in a quiet neighborhood of Pasadena, CA. It has a playground, basketball courts, handball courts, and plenty of open grass and trees which make for a calm and peaceful setting. The park was fairly empty with a few adults engaging in morning fitness activities, and the playground was empty. The temperature outside was about ninety…
