Dolphin Visual Signs
Dolphins used some of the common visual signals. They communicate information by evolved body markings such as body coloration, spots and stripes. For example, there are dolphins that slowly develop spots as they age like Atlantic spotted and others covered in mottled spot patterns like adult dolphins. This will give fast mobility of information about dolphin's age. Many color styles like combat shading and the distinctive black and white markings of orcas are likely used for camouflage or to help when hunting prey species.
