Does Religion Teach hatred?
Does Religion teach hatred? All religions claim to teach love, peace and tolerance. But of course, we know differently. I have noticed that people, who preach, often preach hatred, developing their hateful messages from those same holy books that are meant to preach love and tolerance. Hate is a cancer. It destroys people, churches, and nations. If you hate, your hate may destroy someone else. But it will also destroy you, and those people that you love. Hate shrivels up your heart (not physically), and makes you less and less of a human being. I recommend examining your heart, as the various religions tell you to do. If hate resides there, you may want to consider what harm it is doing to you and those you love. I come from a Muslim background. Islam claims to be a peaceful, loving religion. You are taught from a young age to respect everyone no matter what there background is. But yet, there are so many Muslims killing people of other faiths. Why? Even I have no answer to that. Forget about other people. I come from a religious family, and my parents have taught me to love one another. Yet two summers ago, when I visited Pakistan, I saw the religious hatred in my grandparent’s house. Our maids were Catholics, they were not allowed to drink or eat out of the same dishes that we ate from. They could not use the same bathroom as us and did not dare to sit on the same sofas we sat on. Nowhere in the Quran does it say to treat people like that. Where do we get such ideas? Islam is the religion of love, not hate. I am not a Christian, so I cant say much about them. But I do know that Jesus taught people to love, and warned them against the things that lead them away from love. These things are usually described as the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, jealousy, envy, lust, sloth, and wrath. The bible says, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” But yet, there are so many churches brainwashing their congregation into
