Does God Exist Research Paper
Have you ever questioned someone's existence? Or have you ever thought of a spiritual entity as false? For thousands of years, we have been given a picture of God as the creator of everything we know of. He symbolizes a figure of faith. His spiritual being gives hope and encouragement to people as a way for them to rely on him during their toughest times. For instance, I find myself within those group of people; however, I have become aware that my belief in God is not as strong as I thought it was. During the time I was a child, Roman Catholicism was the religion practiced in my house. My family and I would go to our town¿s local church every Sunday morning at 8 o'clock. I would always be enthusiastic about going to church because I enjoyed …show more content…
Eventually, I started to doubt his existence more often than before. I happened to find myself agreeing with science on the matter of the creation of the Universe because¿to me¿it is the most logical explanation than that of what the Bible claims. Not only that but, the creation of the first humans, Adam and Eva, sounds extremely unreasonable. A human cannot be created from mud or from the ribs of a human; it is plainly absurd. This statement only implies the existence of God as an entity far superior to any other. He cannot be a spirit because¿ by definition¿a spirit is the nonphysical part of a person that is the seat of emotions and character. For him to hold such power, then he has to be some sort of magical 'thing' in order to be able to do all of these deeds. Despite the changes of my belief in God, the only one I strongly believe in is myself. I believe that I'm the only one in charge of my future. I came to realize that having someone or something to believe in rather than yourself is not a priority. In order to be strong in both body and spirit, one must first believe in one's self. Debating myself on this matter allowed me to have thoughts of my own instead of following someone else's

    His existence should not be doubted, simply for the reason that God may be an event. All that should be taken from this is the existence of God based on the idea that whatever created the universe is God. However, God can also be proved to be a sentient being.     “Sixthly, he would be surprised to hear that the mechanism of the watch was no proof of contrivance, only a motion to induce the mind to think so.” (Page 56) William Paley confidently suggests that there must have been a designer to make such a complex piece of machinery due to the undeniable fact that, to make something so complex, a well thought out plan is needed.     I have only had good experiences with it; however, there was one time in my life when I doubted God. In December of 2006 my parents and I moved from Virginia to Albuquerque, New Mexico.     As a young child, I was simply told that God created us with no explanation of how or why. My parents would tell me that He created all humans, animals, plants, and even the Earth. Well of course this had to be true because Mom and Dad were telling me so and they know best. I began to ask more questions like, “how did he do it, when did he do it” and so on. These were questions that they could not answer. They did not brush off my questions; instead, they sent me to a Lutheran church with my aunt.
