Introduction:
The controversy between democracy and dictatorship is a common topic in society. In order to find which one is better, I would like to give a brief definition about democracy and dictatorship. Then, I would like to use different criteria to show that democracy does not produce worse government than dictatorship, to a certain extent, democracy even produce better government than dictatorship. Different social, political and economic condition will lead the country to adopt different type of government, but democracy is a world trend. It also can be found that democracy does not produce worse government than dictatorship.

Democracy is come from two Greek words: demos and kratein. The meaning of demos means “the people”. Kratein means “to rule”, that means democracy is ruled by the people.[1] According to Lincoln’s words, democracy is the government of the people, by the
