English 9a Miss Smith the Trip to Virginia
10-22-14

On my family vacation we went to Virginia. We had lots of fun on that vacation. Virginia is a great place to go for a vacation. The scenery is amazing with all those trees and Virginia has a rich history. It was a long drive when we drove down to Virginia for our vacation in October 2012. When we finally got into Virginia we were in the city, then when we got closer where we were staying in our camper it was very beautiful with all the trees and the scenic views that we saw of the mountains. We took so many pictures of Virginia it is crazy. I loved the smell of the air it was just so sweet you could smell all of the trees like the pines and the cherry trees. Those were the best smells ever I wish we would go down to Virginia again. When we got to our camp site we set up our camper (and we had a hot tub at our camp site)we could smell all the food being cooked and the smell of the charcoal, then we could also smell the campfire smoke in the air and we were drooling to get dinner cooked and sit down and eat. I cannot wait to go down to Virginia again. The sights were amazing when we were at our campsite. The mountains looked so beautiful when the sun was setting the sky was red and pink and looked amazing and the trees mixed in was the most breath-taking view ever. I wish so many other people saw the view I saw that night if you saw that view it would almost make you cry. I saw all the pretty campfires glowing in the dark while we were soaking in the hot tub. You could just see the steam and the bubbles rising from the hot tub that had a tiki hut over top of it. It was so soothing on our skins while it was snowing in Pennsylvania but when we got out the cold air was very harsh and we got cold very quick. We could feel the soft towels my mom handed to us it was great because we were not as cold and it felt very good. On this trip when we cooked up the

I believe Margaret Drabble’s statement, “Our desire to conform is greater than our respect for objective facts,” to be quite true. Throughout history, people of all ages have wanted to be accepted and belong to a group rather than look at the facts and measure what is true and false. It is very evident in our society today that not only do we want to be accepted and belong, but we also are willing to do whatever it takes, no matter what the consequences turn out to be. I agree with Drabble’s statement and believe that it is true all around the world. If you were to step outside our society and look back at it objectively, I can assure you that you would see evidence of this.…

Lena dreamed to have a home of her own and to see her children accomplish their own dreams. Beneatha dreamed to become a doctor and to find the correct way to “express” herself. Ruth dreamed to be wealthy and have a happy family and Walter dreamed one day to be the owner of a business and become a "real man". Arizona, one of the driest places in the United States, in my opinion, is an amazing place to visit. Arizona is not very humid, so even though the temperature gets high it does not feel that hot. Arizona is by far the best place I have ever visited. I visited Arizona three years ago, in the winter time. I went to visit my grandfather in Tucson. Arizona is my favorite place because its landscape is beautiful, there are plenty of activities, and there is a wide variety of wildlife.…
