Dirk The Protector Analysis
In the story “Dirk the Protector” Gary is a street kid that came from the wrong side of the tracks and he finds himself stuck in a tough spot were Dirk comes to his rescue. Will they survive? Dirk was a street dog with an instinct to survive. He had many character traits. Some of them were violent he bit happy. He was also protective because when Gary was getting beat up by happy he bit happy and he and his gang ran away. He is also thankful because Gary gave him Ritz crackers and hamburgers, also he was rugged when Paulsen found him under the steps he had bald spots.
