Alternatively, in our modern day world some people still keep their thoughts to themselves and are afraid to speak for other people. Just like in the book Night, Elie was concerned about the other Jews being taken to extermination camps, however his father told him not to worry about it because it wasn’t them being taken and they lived in denial that anything as unpleasant of what was reality was happening to the Jews and the same would happen to them.
