My hometown- Ningbo My hometown Ningbo is in Zhejiang province which located in the south east part of china. The city lies south of the Hangzhou bay, facing the east china sea to the east.. it’s the centre of the province’s transportation network. Ningbo is a famous destination city for travelers; it’s also a historical city. There are many beautiful views in my hometown,, and Ningbo won a prize which called 10 of the most attractive cities in China in 2006. And, we are all proud of it. Ningbo has an excellent geographic position; there are 3 river cut right through the city named Yong River, Fenghua River and Yao River. The rivers help to moderate the climate and provide enough water. And there are 3 bridges above the rivers. During the evening all the shinny colorful Neon lights together makes a night rainbow, just like a wonderland. And there is a prominent coastal hill near the city which named Yong Hill, which is the reason why Ningbo has another nickname called Yong city. Also, there are 2 lakes inside the city named Sun Lake and Moon Lake, we can see the magical shapes of dancing mists surround the lake in the early morning adding to its mystical beauty. When the winter arrives, all the plants have their own whit cover add to the texture of the scenery providing the resident poets ample material to ruminate about as charming, fascinating and forceful. The combination of the 2 lakes and 3 rivers inside the city are like shinning diamonds of the royal crown. Not only for its beauty, but also for its long history. Ningbo is one of China’s oldest cities, with a history dating back to the Hemudu culture in 4800B.C. once known as Ming Zhou (the oldest name!), Ningbo was known as a trade city on the silk road around 2000 years ago, then as a major port, along with Yangzhou and Guangzhou in the tang dynasty; thereafter, the major ports

Ancient China was located in the eastern part of Asia. As time went on, China expanded its borders to the north, south, and west. Today, China itself covers one-third of the continent of Asia. It is the third largest country in the world. China also has the world’s largest population. China shares borders with fourteen other countries. Major cities, which developed and grew along the Huang He, Chang Jiang, Wei and Luo rivers, served as political, financial, and economic centers of the dynasties. “The dynasty is a series of rulers in a particular kingdom or empire, and each ruler in the series is said to be a member of the same family”. In approximately 350 BCE, Xianyang became the capital of China. After the fall of the Qin Dynasty, a new capital was established at the city of Chang’an near present day Xi’an. Chang’an stayed the capital of China until the first century CE, even when the new emperor moved the capital. The new capital was established at the city of Luoyang, which was located in the center of China on the Wei River. Luoyang was the capital of China for many different dynasties, but by…
