Prof. Riski I woke up on Wednesday morning in the middle of an extremely hot August. I noticed it was sunny, something unusual during a Floridian summer. As I rolled myself out of bed, I began to stretch. While I was doing that there was this sweet smell that I know I’ve smelled before. It was such a sensational smell just as if I can actually taste it. I followed the smell towards the kitchen where I found my mom making me my favorite breakfast, blueberry waffles topped with whipped cream, syrup with banana and strawberry slices. It was just a site to see. Right next to it was a big glass of chocolate milk; I couldn’t wait any longer to demolish the waffle fortress that was waiting for me. I grabbed my plate and took it to the table and began eating. As I demolished it, I felt as if I were in another galaxy, where everything was made out of waffles, pancakes, toast and there was a chocolate river; it was to die for. Once I finished my breakfast, I felt like a bowling ball of how full I was. So I decided to lie back down. So I stayed in bed till I had to start my day. I picked out of my favorite outfit and I sprayed on my most complimented fragrance. Everyone would tell me I smelled like paradise, so I got curious about it. I was curious why they would say that so I asked somebody what do they mean and there answer was that I smell like sunshine, palm trees, freedom and he also came to mention I smelled like the Fiji islands, to me all those words were compliments and made me happy.

As I began my day I drove myself down to the mall to meet one of my close friends for the day that I haven’t seen in years so today was the day. While I was sitting on one of the benches in one of the corridors waiting for her to come, I couldn’t help but to just picture how she would look since it’s been years I haven’t seen her. Thinking to myself could she possibly still look the same as she did before or has she changed in my opinion to me she

What’s better to chill out a hot summer’s day than something sweet and cool? No, I am not talking about a Popsicle. I am not talking about an ice cream cone, either. I am not even talking about iced tea or lemonade. It is something better than all of those, and it doesn’t even have all the sneaky calories of those other tasty treats! The answer to the question is simple. Have you guessed it? It is a cherry.…

Walking down the stairs, turning the corner, I enter my room. As I open the door, I immediately feel the soft carpet, I am enveloped in the familiar surroundings. The two colored walls, the shelves that hold my books and various trinkets, and my bed with its headboard holding an assortment of items. Sitting on the downy soft comforter, I smell a faint whiff of sweet pea that is constantly in the air. While I sit I listen to the quiet music that is always playing in the background. All the while thinking of contentment.…

It had rained recently and the scent of pine filled the car as we drove with our windows down. I noticed wet red dirt that resembled clay. I pointed out this discovery to the kids, whom were amazed at every new sight. The air was so clean, there was no scent of smog, to which I had grown accustomed, in my home town. We observed many trees and relished in their beauty. There were trees of all kinds ranging from pine, to cedar, hickory and many others. The colors that filled them made me realize, I had truly arrived. The scenery was so beautiful and welcoming. I was home and it felt that way from the moment I arrived. My children and I noticed fall leaves everywhere. All colors associated with autumn made me cry, I was just so happy and exhausted. I couldn’t wait to get out of the car and really relax. After about three days of driving I was totally worn out and suffered from a bad case of insomnia. In spite of it all, I was excited to start my new job and our new…

We walked through the city of Baltimore to get to the stadium. It was so crowded, you could barely breathe with all the people and food vendors around. I could smell a mixture of so many things. The first thing was the people, some there smelled like they had just taken a shower but others smelled like a dead skunk. You just couldn’t stand the smell you had to walk away from that person as fast as possible. The other smells I could smell was the food from the vendors. The one I liked the most was the smoked sausage and pulled pork vendor. I was in heaven when we stopped there. It’s every man’s dream to see sausage sandwiches in front of him along with some freshly pulled pork with sweet, tangy barbeque sauce. I had ordered the pulled pork. It wasn’t too cold but wasn’t too hot, it was just right. The juice rolled off of the sandwich onto the napkin every time I had taken a bite. The tanginess was just sensational it was perfect in every which way. I had also picked up, a nice cold lemonade on this hot day. When the lemonade touched my lips they shriveled up from all of the lemon that was in it. It was a perfect mixture of lemons and sugar water it was just fabulous. The icy coldness of the lemonade was wonderful because it was steaming outside.…

When I got home the soft grass tickled my sore, dirty feet. I remember the porch of my house. I walked in, and didn’t remember any of it. I walked down a long thin hallway, walked into my blue and white room, it was still the same. My socks were in a pile, my bed was still unmade, and there was a pile of clean clothes that I forgot to put away before I left. It was good to be…

As I sit outside my porch gleaming at the clear blue sky, the sun peeking through the clouds down on my face. I take a long breath, taking in the morning breeze and letting it out. Today will be different, it will be a new beginning. I hear the birds chirping and the sun has risen. It's time. I run back inside my house grab the keys and head straight to the front door. I take a deep breath again telling the voices in my head that today will be different. I stroll down the road as I rehash what this day was one year ago. A deadly disaster, a heart throbbing story that I never want to be reminded of. I ambled past a group of people down the street, I hear their words turning into whispers and their ferocious eyes looking at me. The whispers are…

After the brief but shrill sound of the bell to signal school dismissal, I was looking forward to a very lazy three day weekend. As I gradually made my way home by means by walking slowly dragging my feet. This was because I was completely exhausted from this past week. I sat bolt upright in bed and whipped around to look at the clock. Four thirty AM. I scanned my room. I was glad to observe that it was my room. Yes, the regular blue walls and dirty clothes strewn across the floor. I spit a piece of blond hair, to my relief, out of my mouth. What had just happened? Whatever it was, I decided, happened for a reason. Whether I decided to dismiss it as a dream was up to me. Later that morning, I fixed myself some bread and jam and a cup of coffee, which I found I had acquired a taste for. On the way out the door for school, I gave my mom a peck on the cheek.…

It was a bright, sunny day, day that my mood was happy and my mind set free. This was a little bit unusual for someone like me, especially for it being a Monday. I dreaded going to school or being at school on Mondays, just like many other students, but this Monday was an exceptional day. I woke up on that sunny day feeling like my worries did not exist and nothing or no one could upset the way I was feeling. But then I started to question why I was feeling this way. Could it be that the Pastor’s preaching on Sunday was good, or I had so much fun over the weekend, or maybe my mother’s cooking was so delicious? Whatever the answer(s) to the many questions I had, I couldn’t yet figure it out.…

So it all starts off with a normal day I wake up and put on some fresh clothes. I'm all groggy and sleepy so I look like a zombie walking around the house. I go downstairs and I grab a bowl a spoon and I grabbed some milk and apple jacks. I watched the creamy milk gush out like a waterfall falling upon crisp apple jacks. Then I just sat down and was eating cereal savoring every taste.…

“When you smoke herb, it reveals yourself to you,” is a famous quote of the pothead and marvelous musician Bob Marley. He felt as though marijuana helped tune in with your inner being. I believe cannabis that cannabis does this too and therefore have become a habitual marijuana consumer. Being in tune with ones inner being is important, yet not the reason that I smoke cannabis. The cannabis plant is beautiful, from the leaf to the buds you smoke. I love the ‘highs’ from smoking marijuana, and last but not least, I love how I can function while ‘high’. The summary is that little nuggets of joy have been crucial in making me who I am now, and I am grateful for everything marijuana has brought.…

After 7 ½ hours of school and hard work, I had finally earned the treat of my good grades - The Olive Garden. I had worked super hard in every class and had wanted the olive garden since the week had started I was sitting in my house watching the rain drop in pools right outside my window. My head was drenched from the 5rain and my black hair was falling down my pale but happy face as i waited for my mom to get home. Suddenly I heard my white old squeaky garage opened and from the rain emerged my mom in her silver ford escort car. My face couldn't help but smile as she came in the door to the house with her drenched hair and face. ‘’ Hey mom!’’ I said happy as she entered the door. The look on her face was like she had been mad, and befores…

As my sister’s wedding drew near, given that I was her maid of honor, it became apparent to me that it was my job to take all of the ladies in the wedding party to the salon on the day of the wedding. This was fine with me, except that I hadn’t worn makeup or done my hair for years. After much convincing from the bride, I decided to get my makeup done with them, and regretted that decision every second after it was made.…
