. Describe what your role, responsibilities and boundaries would be as a teacher in terms of the teaching/training cycle.

Recommended word count: 300-500 words.

The teaching / training cycle is a simple way of looking at all the aspects of teaching and how they are evaluated using five stages; Identifying needs, Planning learning, Enabling learning, Assessing learning, Quality assurance and evaluation.

Each of the five stages listed above flow from one to the other. The cycle is constantly evolving and can be entered at any stage and is continuous.

In my role as a First aid instructor, I will use the teaching / training cycle to ensure that my role, responsibilities and boundaries are carried out to the satisfaction of the learners and myself before, during and after First aid course presentations.

At the Identify needs stage, my role as Assessor is to carry out an initial assessment using a pre-course questionnaire. This allows me to ensure that each individual’s needs and requirements are met along with the organisation’s expectations, and also to ensure that course content is designed to reflect individual differences in Learner needs, whilst providing the best possible teaching / learner environment. The learner needs cover social, physical, intellectual, cultural and emotional requirements

It is essential that I continuously monitor learner needs throughout the teaching cycle, along with all client expectations and demands.

I am aware that my boundaries are to accept the information given in the pre course assessment, and to respect an individuals right to refuse to disclose information they deem too sensitive. All information given to me is deemed confidential and is not discussed or disclosed to others.

At the Planning learning stage I see my roles are planner, course designer, scheduler, and organiser.

It is my responsibility to Plan, design and schedule First aid courses based around the individuals and
