Describe Lake Lopez
Everyone has one location within their minds that they can instantly recall. For me it’s the mountains near Lake Lopez. The constant fresh smell of trees come over you. The sun light gleams off the still lake water which lights the mountains. Only pure serenity remains with you when on those mountains.
When arriving at Lake Lopez serenity would be the last thing you would think of. Many families pack the entrance, children arguing with their siblings and even parents arguing with themselves. Setting up your camp station is the most hectic portion of the trip. Anyone can panic at the thought of accidentally forgetting to pack an essential item. No one can finally collect themselves until everything is accounted for.

The place I feel content at is Ruth lake this is because it is fun when it is warm and when you have a boat because you get to go tubing. Sometimes you might see your friends there and get to do things with them. There is also deer season in the fall and that means I get to go camping. You can also go onto the mountains and have a view of the shining water of the lake.…

The water glistened off the sun like a polished pearl. After strolling up to the shore, she gazed at the astounding view. She hopped into ice-cold liquid, and felt a chill crawl up her back. “How does it feel,” yelled a far off voice. “It feels great… jump right in,” she lied. She thought about how Lake Holcombe allows people to be themselves, spend time with family, and become stronger mentally and physically.…

As soon as I feel the sun’s warmth on my face peeking over from behind the rim of Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, I am wide awake. I open my tent to see deep, vivid reds and pinks, along with bright oranges and yellows and the luminous sun in the middle of nature’s masterpiece. Although it is only around forty degrees this morning, I can feel my heart burning with the desire to explore the various park features. It is only my first day at Crater Lake, and I can already feel myself beginning to love this unique, wonderful place.…

Lake Monticello, a 2,000 acre impoundment, was built in 1972 and is located just south of Interstate 30 between the towns of Mt. Vernon and Mt. Pleasant, TX. This lake is responsible for the lunker bass boom that began in the early '80's. Its lake record bass (14.90 pounds), caught in February of 1980, broke the previous Texas state record that was held for 37 years. When word of the fourteen pound largemouth spread throughout the state, Lake Monticello became one of the premier bass lakes in the southwest.…

The day begins bright and early. The sounds of the birds chirping, mixing with the warm glow of the sun shining through my tent, act as my alarm clock for the day. As I exit the tent, I inhale a deep breath of the crisp mountain air. It feels cool and fresh in my lungs. The campground is packed full of random campers from all across California and Nevada. This is defiantly the busiest time of the year for Lake Tahoe Valley Camping Resort. Being so close to the big blue lake, there is no way I am going to miss the most incredible display of fire works in all of California.…

    2. My favorite place from the setting is the library. To me the library is like a whole different world. It’s not just a place full of books: it’s a place that you can explore and learn new things every day. I go to the library at least once a week, and read as many books as I can per month. The reason I love reading is because you can escape reality and enter the world of the character(s) in the novel.…

Is there a place that you go to just to think or feel relaxed? Everyone has a place like that and the Delaware River is that place for me. When I first moved to Pennsylvania seven years ago, I loved that I was going to live near a river. I had never lived so close to any body of water before. After about one year of living in Easton, Pennsylvania, my mom and I had decided to have a picnic every year alongside the Delaware River. We would sit on the grass with the sun warming our faces and just watch the water in the river flow until it fell down the waterfall. The Delaware River provides a place for me to think and it’s also a great place to go if you want to relax.…

I sat down on the park bench by the Mirror Lake that was closest to the fountain. Even though nobody was sitting on the seven foot long bench, I sat on one corner occupying the minimum amount of space possible. Only after sitting on the wooden bench I realize that the bench was still slightly wet from previous night’s heavy rain. Though autumn had stripped away the youthful leaves of deciduous trees around the lake, it brought a strange nostalgic beauty to the campus. Dry and crispy fallen leaves ranging from yellow to crimson colors carpeted the cemented bank of the lake. Despite what the name suggests, the Mirror Lake did not reflect its surroundings in the green algae-filled water. However, the serene view of the lake was enough for me to catch a breath and eat lunch between my intensive science classes.…

It was three years ago in May, and my family decided to set out on a trip to the famous Lake Powell. My Turpin side, which is who we went with, consists of a fair amount of people: Grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Lake Powell is a reservoir located on the Colorado River on the border between Utah and Arizona. It was a little over five hundred miles from Snake River to Lake Powell and it took us over nine hours to get there. The drive consisted of my cousins and I sleeping on each others shoulders, and lots of movies since my Grandpa had TV screens in his truck.…

With the life I’ve lived, it’s quite difficult to choose a singular primal landscape. I’ve lived on the white sand beaches of the former Gold Coast; in the hospitable heart of the Lone Star State; in the open minded Golden State; and currently, in Alberta. All of these places have given me a place to call home but in particular, I would say that I am most connected with San Leandro, California.…

L is for lost. As you might know, this spring break I went to lake Konoplis with my Mom, Dad, and sister. It was very exiting, because this was going to be the first time we had ever stayed in a cabin. Lake Konoplis is right past the small town of Marquette. When we go to the cabin the first thing we did was unpack. Shortly we went down to a little fishing place we saw when we came in. We weren't having any luck there so we decided to go to a different section of the lake.…
