In the early nineteen hundreds the field of aviation was primarily studied by one race and one gender. Only after the nineteen twenties did the world see it’s first African American aviator. She was also a woman and her name was Bessie Coleman. She received her pilot’s license and continued to fly until the tragic day she was thrown from her plane and was killed. Only twenty years after that did World War II come along and the 66th Air Force flying school at the Tuskegee Institute was established. Blacks took advantage of this opportunity to prove their ability and to assist in the war. Benjamin O. Davis for whom my school is named , became the first African American Air Force officer to achieve general’s rank in 1953. Bessie Coleman and B. O. Davis have been a role model for me and I hope that one day I could maybe a role model for other minority female aviators to come. Because of the increase in diversity, Gen. Davis and Bessie Coleman were able to do what they loved and were obviously good at.…

Laser dentistry is a relatively new form of dental care. Laser Dentistry uses lasers to perform surgery, prepare cavities, and harden dental resins. This use of lasers has allowed dentists to perform tasks with less pain and with improved results. There are many different types of lasers used in the dentistry field. Theses lasers included the argon laser, the diode laser, the neodymium: yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser, the holmium: yttrium aluminum garnet (Ho:YAG) laser, the erbium: yttrium aluminum garnet (Er:YAG) laser, and the carbon dioxide (CO2) laser. Each laser has different properties, such as wavelength, that allow the laser energy to be absorbed by different compounds. A laser that is well absorbed by water would be used on blanched tissue, and a laser that is well absorbed by skin pigments would be used on skin or gums.…

The Egyptians believed that the mouse was under the direct protection of the sun, therefore if one had a toothache the split body of a warm mouse was applied to the affected side. In India the cusped of Buddha was enshrined in a famous temple (at Kandi) and prayed to in fertility rites. Prayers were offered up to saints for the relief of pain.
