Thank you so much for inviting me for an interview in my first choice dental school. It was great pleasure meeting you. It was very exciting to visit the and after visiting the school, students and faculty members; I am more passionate to join the school. I am looking forward to hear from you in near future.

I am very sorry to hear about your surgeries for oral cancer treatment. I can really feel how hard it would be for you to go through that process particularly if you have the knowledge about all the procedures and prognosis. You are very strong fighter. I am very happy to know that you beat it. It is very inspiring for me in terms of accepting the fact and move on.

    Columbus County has become my home for the past three years. During my exploration of Columbus County I chose to ask Michael Brown, Mark Howard, Christina Perdue; MD, Dr. Kevin Bratton; Ph.D., and Addie Mae Haley. I thought it would be interesting to get the opinions of five people with different occupations, and experiences in life. Michael Brown is a Southeastern Community College student, his major is Education, geared towards a history profession. I received his thoughts during an interview at Southeastern on February 5th. Mark Howard is a Shift Manager at McDonalds here in Whiteville, as well as a retired Army Soldier. I was able to talk to him face to face during one of his breaks on January 29. Christina Perdue; MD, is my family’s doctor here in Whiteville at Southeast Primary Care. Dr. Perdue is always very busy so I spoke to her via telephone for her opinion on February 17th. Kevin Bratton; PhD, is one of our deans here at Southeastern Community College, and an awesome instructor. Dr. Bratton responded to my email on January 31st. And finally, the best for last, Addie Mae Haley, she worked in Blueberry and Tobacco fields when she was young, and after she was married she became a domesticated house wife. Mrs. Haley’s my oldest interviewee, at the great age of 85, and was born and raised in Columbus County. I was able to interview her face to face on January 20th.     I sat down to interview my high school basketball coach over the break to see what it took and how long it took for him to get where he is today in the coaching world. It took him 5 years to get his bachelor degree in sports management from Oklahoma State University. Coach Thomlinson has been coaching for 8 years and teaching for 6, the first two year he started off coaching was an assistant coaching job at Oklahoma Christian University then moved to Luther High School for 4 years and finally moved to Bethel High School where he became my head coach. He is a basketball coach and teaches health wellness. A typical work day for him are the hours 730a.m to around 4p.m out of season and in season the hours consist of about 730a.m to around 10p.m, the in season works consists of practice, planning practice, teaching, game film, game film on opponents, strategizing, and of course coaching the actual games. Out of season work just consists of teaching, practice, and finding out on want we need to work on to get better. Out of season he has the whole evening off with the family and then most of the summer with the family other than that little bit of time that is taken up by summer basketball camps but when basketball season starts “my team becomes my family” Coach Thomlinson said. The dream job for me is of course Duke University he said jokingly, But in all seriousness the dream coaching job for me would just to have a great group of kids that are coachable and of course a winning record every ear wouldn’t hurt. The highest dollar check I could get now in high school basketball would just depend on what school I went to and what their budget is, but more than likely a coaching job in Texas for high school would pay more than a high school coaching job in Oklahoma.
