DENTAL CASE STUDY The dogs name is Tammy and she is a 13 yr old corgi. She has been brought in because the owner has noticed that she has a smelly breath. Mark has checked its teeth first up and they are pretty bad with extensive Tatar and gingivitis. a few molars of the molars seem very bad as well and will most likely need to come out. She has been booked in for a dental in 2 days but because she is so old she the owner has been advised to do a pre G.A screen on Tammy. We managed to get the blood from Tammy. We take the blood in a lithium heparin tube.. I am then left to test the bloods to see what they come up with. With the lithium heparin tube I put a bit of blood in the dropper and put it in the hole of the rotor and put it into the machine. While I was waiting for that to finish I put blood in a capillary tube for the centrifuge to be spun down for the PCV. It spun in the centrifuge for 10 minutes on 4000 rpm. I then measured. When they were both done I put the results into the patient history. These are the results and the next to them are the ideal spectrums they should be in for a dog: . She was weight on the way through and taken down the back to be put on a drip and pre-meded by the vet. She was given A.C.P and Butomidor for a premed. She was then put in a cage to sedate ready to be anesthetised.
While she was sedating I got a dental kit ready. In this kit I put a mouth gage,
