Dental Case Study
DENTAL CASE STUDY The dogs name is Tammy and she is a 13 yr old corgi. She has been brought in because the owner has noticed that she has a smelly breath. Mark has checked its teeth first up and they are pretty bad with extensive Tatar and gingivitis. a few molars of the molars seem very bad as well and will most likely need to come out. She has been booked in for a dental in 2 days but because she is so old she the owner has been advised to do a pre G.A screen on Tammy. We managed to get the blood from Tammy. We take the blood in a lithium heparin tube.. I am then left to test the bloods to see what they come up with. With the lithium heparin tube I put a bit of blood in the dropper and put it in the hole of the rotor and put it into the machine. While I was waiting for that to finish I put blood in a capillary tube for the centrifuge to be spun down for the PCV. It spun in the centrifuge for 10 minutes on 4000 rpm. I then measured. When they were both done I put the results into the patient history. These are the results and the next to them are the ideal spectrums they should be in for a dog: . ALP (20-150 U/L) 21 ALT (10-118 U/L) 33 BUN (2.5-8.9 MMO/L) 16.2 CRE(27 - 124UMO/L) 123 GLU (3.3- 6.1 MMO/L) 6.3 TP 81 (54-82 G/L) 68

There is an animal abuse story about a 28-year-old woman and her two abandoned dogs, Rocky and Jericho. Rocky is a Lhasa Apso, and Jericho is a Yorkshire terrier; the two of them had dreadfully matted fur, nails that were awfully overgrown, and to make matters worse, Rocky’s leg was in critical condition. His fur was extremely dirty, and this combined with the matted clumps covering his body required up to three specialists working on him at one point for several hours in order to cut the lumps of fur. Furthermore, Rocky’s front right leg was far worse than any other part of his body; it was just one giant clump of swollen, matted fur, and was turned the complete opposite way. This made Rocky unable to use his leg. Adding insult to injury,…
