Just like Newton’s third law, for every action there is an equal opposite reaction. I believe this to be true in a good student. If you put in good work then that work will react with a good response. Even if the grades weren’t represented as much as the student would have liked them to be. Understanding your errors and paying attention to good feedback shows a commitment to learn. At the end of the day all students are in school to learn. Sadly most of the feedback as students we get is a letter or number. This fact brings me to the backbone of every student, the teachers.…
Another reason is the educational system is unfair. Schools may give same test to all students however the test covers a less range of skills; memory, knowledge and logic. Therefore, some pupils have an advantage. Students who have mixed abilities, are shown as less able to achieve good grades as that test is excluding their best skills. The setting and streaming of a school can also be unfair. Some students are just thrown in lower sets (3,4,5) because of their behaviour rather than their smartness. So, teachers have lower expectations for them and may underestimate their abilities which causes them to underachieve even though they may be bright.…
To become in general a successful student in life, we all need to learn to become a good student in every aspect of life. Becoming a good student is not an easy task if you already have other obligations to fulfill in life such as family, work. To be a good student it takes a great deal of hard work, time and self discipline. Any student who possesses these strong characteristics will often time stand out from the rest of their classmates. In order to become a successful student, my strongest characteristics are self motivation, positive self esteem, commitment and good study habits.…

Being a great student and making good grades has always been one of my main interest. In first grade, I had an absolute break down due to seeing red marks on one of my assignments. In that moment, I knew i wanted to work my hardest towards success. Perfection is the most ideal; however, I had to learn that no one can be perfect all of the time.…
Since I have started college a year ago I have come to realize that grades do reflect a student’s abilities to complete any assignments and make good grades. Achieving your goals and being a hard worker pays off end in the end. Some students need that one on one with a teacher but then again some students like to have a class with a lot of people. From my perspective as a current college sophomore I like to be interactive with the teacher and students. Most students can’t learn by visual some students need to interactive with everyone. I believe that the grades reflect students’ achievement because some kids just like show off in class and not do their work. Some students play around and are smart as a whip.…
Words, unbeknownst to most people, usually have more than one meaning. Us as a people need to strive to look deeper into the words we use. I have one word in particular that I would like to share. Great, a word commonly used throughout America. No one would ever think that a word as simple as this could have multiple different meanings depending on the setting it is being used in and who it is being said by. No one would guess that the way your mom uses great might differ from the way a teen might use the word great. The way a doctor uses great could completely different from the way a football coach uses the word great. These are some of the numerous examples that can and will be explained within this essay.…
Having good grades it what every good students are looking for, but it's not always easy to have it. I can define good grades as a result of hard work. Most of the time it's the students want the best grade but, the do not work hard for it such as the play video games, watch TV or go to bed instead of doing school work.Good grade are very good ,first they make your parents proud of you second of all good grades shows that you are a smart student, third of all in the future that will help you to have a scholarship.…

Tonight, we gone be too Turnt up”. We’ve all heard people use the phrase Turnt up, but what does it mean. It is used to describe a night of fun that nobody will forget. Every parent desires to have a child who will be successful in life. As a child my parents wanted the same for me. When we have a thought in our mind about article “Brainology”, the author, Carol Dweck explains that there are consequences of praising children for their work, they are also different types of mindsets that enable a person’s development. She focuses on two types of mindsets. The first mindset is fixed where a person believes that if she or he is smart, they don’t need to put effort to be successful.…
With school work it’s the same way. The student that takes the time to apply themselves, study and actually tries to rise above others is the student with the 4.0. As opposed to the student who tries to skate by on the bare minimum, which turns work in late or not at all, who never studies and very rarely pays attention in class. When one looks at the big “big picture” of things, they’ll see that the harder you work when you’re young the “easier” you’ll have it later in life. For example, the athlete with the 4.0 and the athletic ability has an extremely better chance at full rides, scholarships and recruitment than the athlete with the same athletic ability but a 2.0 GPA. Not only is getting into college easier with more time spent in the books but college itself is easier because you…
However it is different for a child who has been labelled as smart, they will get extra help from their teachers and set harder work. This makes them work harder as they are set new challenges and are taught how to pass their exams with high grades. This again is an example of the self fulfilling prophecy with this one being referred to as the halo effect.…
There are many schools around the world and every school has a system and law that the students have to follow. All the students have different mentality to think about the school, some of them consider it as second home to learn and the some consider it just as a place to spend time, and they don’t take it seriously. Then to be a good or bad student that is something we can choose by ourselves. And to be a good student there are a lot of qualities we should have.…
