Dedication To The Histori Therapeutic Analysis
Historian is a position that requires a seemingly endless amount of documentation. In order to be successful at it, one needs to be heavily involved. I have been a part of everything in I.T.S. since I came to highschool. I have never once looked at it like a chore either, it has always been my first love. My dedication to this troupe is unparalleled and can’t even be fully expressed through words. My life is entirely made up of theatre, it’s the one thing that no matter what, I can find happiness in.

My dedication to the troupe carries over outside of school as well; attending troupe hangouts, like ice skating and even the christmas party at the loop. I feel that, that shows I don’t do participate in everything for any other reason than

[1] What do historians create with the history they account? History is a story that never ends. The events of the present in essence have already happened in the past. Historians try to make sense of the present by deconstructing the past. Only through analysis of the past can one understand the present. I remember playing cowboys and Indians as a child. I would always play the part of the cowboys, and consequently the cowboys always won. At the end of my day 's adventure I went to my parents to tell them of my conquest against the Indians. I made certain to include every detail of the battle -- from first charge to last saber stroke. History was made that day in my backyard with the green figurine—soldier on horseback—whose defeat of the Indian nemesis forces was both courageous and honorable.…

When a person thinks of a historian they would probably say they are a museum curator or someone who just studies the past. However, they truly do not understand what it means to be a historian. In the book The Landscape of History: How Historians Map the Past, John Gaddis goes into explicit detail on what it takes for a historian to properly and accurately present the past to the public. There are three main elements that I found interesting in this explanation. They are the fact that the historian must use time, space, and scale. As such, we shall delve into this for further examination.…

Being responsible for 19 other people is a challenge that freshman me would never have been able to do, and in this way, band has helped me grow into both the leader and the person that I am today. However, band didn’t just help me grow, it made me happy. My memories of band are some of the happiest memories of my life. Memories ranging from praying to all the band gods above for a water break or possibly a nice cloud to shade us from the evil sun to marching and winning sweepstakes at our very first competition and crying our tears of happiness together. I will always cherish these memories.Band acted as my salvation in how it forced me to grow into the leader I am today and how it made me happy. I want college to act as my second salvation. Tennis and marching band are two extracurricular activities that require both dedication and commitment. Prior to entering my first year of high school, I decided that I wanted to take my love for tennis to the next level and make the O’Fallon high school tennis team. In 5th grade, I committed myself to playing the alto saxophone in the school band and all that entails with lessons and practice, with an eye on playing in the high school marching band. During high school, I made a commitment to participate in the Rose Bowl Parade in California. After making that decision, I found out I made the tennis team. Practicing both these activities in the summer and playing during the fall semester put me at odds with my parents on what should come first tennis or band. The amount of time needed for both activities to succeed was monumental and would be an uphill battle compared to the actual time I had. This caused internal conflict knowing that one will not get as much attention as the other. At that moment, I decided to come up with a solution to my problem then put it into action. One way or another I had developed two answers. I realized to become good at band and tennis something had to change.…

However, in both cultures, it is valued to take risks and put yourself out of your comfort zone in addition to working hard to reach your full potential. Both IB students and music students can recognize the importance of taking a challenge instead of the easy way out. Similarly, both classes benefit from active participation. Unfortunately, a few teachers in the music department see active participation in both class and outside events as a strict rule to live by and expect all students to dedicate their lives to that specific class. I often find myself scheduling my personal and educational endeavors around my music classes in order to receive a passing grade. This constant back and forth between the IB and Music departments can develop into an almost sibling rivalry between the two culture's requirements and values.…

While in tenth grade I took grade eleven science and then, in grade eleven, I took grade twelve math and sciences. This resulted in beginning my grade twelve year with three grade twelve courses already completed because I also took a summer school English course. Overall, throughout my education I have worked hard to do well, putting aside the outside influences of family and friends, in order to pursue my post-secondary path. I not only worked ahead in my courses but being a part of the school community has also been an essential factor. I have participated in clubs at school throughout my four years, but I also volunteer and work outside of school. I am currently a member of Girls Respect Group (GRG) and JUMP; I have been a member since grade 11 and grade 9, respectively. In GRG this year I have held a senior position where my duties are more behind-the-scenes. For example, when we hosted the Women’s Day Breakfast I was in charge of writing donation letters, getting in contact with possible guest speakers, etc.; whereas, younger/newer members did more speaking and running around at the actual event. In JUMP I do not hold any positions because I chose to dedicate more time to Girls Respect Group; however, I am still an active member and attend events and meetings…
