Dead Poets Society By Neil And Mr Keating
The risks and rewards to following one’s own path in life is clearly shown in the film, Dead Poets’ Society, by Neil and Mr. Keating. These characters were both rewarded and faced consequences after following their own rules. Neil was rewarded for doing what he loved, which was acting, when he received the main role in the play and made a great performance. By performing in the play, he risked his father being unsupportive of him. Unfortunately, after his performance, his father was infuriated and punished him greatly. This led to Neil's decision to commit suicide. Additionally, Mr. Keating was rewarded for following his own path in life, which was teaching his own beliefs, when his students began looking up to him and enjoying class time.

The movie "Twelve Angry Men" by Reginald Rose is a drama that displays twelve jurors' in-depth reasoning to decide a unanimous decision on the defendant's sentence. In this essay I intend to explore the narrative conventions and values, which Oliver Smithfield presents in the short story Victim. The short story positions the reader to have negative and sympathetic opinion on the issues presented. Such as power, identity and bullying. For example Mickey the young boy is having issues facing his identity. It could be argued that finding your identity may have the individual stuck trying to fit in with upon two groups.…

The Catcher in the Rye and Dead Poets Society are very similar stories. Both deal with the coming of age in the lives of prestigious young men. These two stories also deal with the conformity of these young men in their transition from private boys school to the real world. There are two young men from each of the stories whose lives are alike yet different in some ways.…

Our lives are build out of experiences. Depending on where we live, what we are going through, or our state of mind, we build our personal lives by making some concessions and adjustments in order to cope with others. In the play GHOST by Henrik Ibsen, Mrs. Alving and Pastor Manders are two characters whose stories differ because of secrets, misunderstandings, and masquerade.…

My favorite poems are jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll and Knoxville Tennessee by Nikki Giovanni. I like those poems the most because they are both different. Knoxville Tennessee is about the great things that summer can bring, like the things you love to do in the summer and the things you like to eat in the summer. I like jabberwocky also because it is fiction and not real story. In the poem jabberwocky in think these nonsense words make this poem special and it is a really exciting poem. But I think you can learn something from that poem, and that is you can be afraid of something but you can always do it when you believe in yourself and when you are not afraid anymore but in this poem he killed the jabberwocky and came home and now maybe he is the hero. And when you can do something you are afraid of when you can be a little hero because you are not afraid anymore. I think poems are sometimes better than books because you can read long poems and short poems but you can learn from both, but in one thing books and poems are equal they both tell a story even when it is a story that is not real they tell a story.…

At the end of the movie John Keating is accused of making Neil come up against his father and outing his own dreams ("Carpe diem!") which ultimately leads to him committing suicide. My understanding is that Neils father was too controlling and not wanting Neil to do what he wanted. Neil loved acting and was really good at it. His father on the other hand did not like the acting and wanted Neil to become a doctor. Being a doctor is a really good career but that is not what Neil wanted to do. I think Neil has had enough of his father's controlling punishment and just wanted to take the easy way out. Mr Keating. The new teacher and previous student at Welton has inspired the boys to 'seize the day' and restart his old club, the Dead Poets Society. He tries to bring life and free-thinking to the school which is what i admire the most and why i would defend his position at…

Although the final result of this movie is an unexpected tragedy, I believe that Mr. Keating got a perfect success when most of the students stood on the desk; the respectful teacher is their captain in their whole life. He makes the students know what life is, to help more young people to find his own. Students set up “Dead Poets Society” to release themselves. Also, I believe that most of the students like the teacher such as Mr. Keating in nowadays. He encouraged confidence and enthusiasm, I hope that I can find myself, and do the best of myself with his inspiration, and “suck out all the marrow of life”. However, he forgot to teach his students how to become brave enough to fight for their dreams or beautiful things. He should say: “ Never give up, just stand up and always keep smiling. You can become a fighter.…

The teaching methods of their new English teacher, John Keating, are quite unorthodox for standards of Welton college curriculum. John Keating is an unusual Welton Teacher who has been found out by his students that a former student at Welton and a member of secret school literary club, the Dead Poets Society who has met in a cave off the school grounds. Keating is an unusual teacher because on the contrary to his collogues whose teaching practices focus on merely homework and exams, Keating pushes his students to "think" and to "seize the day".…

The importance of individuality is an essential characteristic for people all across the world, as Todd Anderson portrays as the perfect character in Dead Poets Society to teach others how one can’t be anyone but oneself. In the end, he came to terms with this idea and even though he won’t be completely fixed he has finally made it to the right path.
