As a St. Ambrose DPT student, the opportunities for growth and development are infinite. Small class sizes, personable and knowledgeable faculty, an established curriculum, and a variety of clinical settings provide students with the knowledge and experience needed to be a stand-out in the career field. Nonetheless, graduate school acts as the crucial bridge from student to treatment, especially in terms of professionalism. Completing a graduate degree is much more than the coursework; it requires managing not only classroom assignments, but also research with faculty, conference visits, and various internships. Actively participating in these supplementary opportunities helps to advance the exploration and application of DPT program concepts. Students who manage their stress levels by planning and organizing healthy eating, physical activity, daily goal setting, rewarding small accomplishments, and time for social support are those who flourish in the DPT program and in their professional growth. The DPT program at St. Ambrose produces successful health care providers, especially in the physical therapy field. By focusing on professionalism throughout the course of the program, students are able to perfect their professional image in how they dress and speak, how they contribute in group projects and course discussions, how they interact and connect with peers and professors, and how they manage their time and stress throughout graduate school.
