Evaluate the potential impacts of two factors on the future of UK inbound and domestic tourism
In this document I am going to be looking at the possible impacts that two factors have on the UK in terms of Inbound and domestic tourists and how this possess possible problems in the future and therefore help to predict possible outcomes in terms of tourism numbers and offer ways in which I think that the UK can overcome this and therefore maintain their inbound visitors numbers and increase domestic travel within the UK. The two factors that I am going to be looking at include health and the weather.
Health
I have mentioned health problems that have occurred in previous years that have had a huge impact of the travel and tourism sector in P4 and M2, but now I am going to look at the new health problems that could occur in the future based on previous knowledge of epidemics and viruses that have cause havoc at an international scale. These included such things as the Ebola virus in 2014. Medication being manufactured has seen an increase and this is due to the fact that whenever people go to see a doctor they expect to receive some form of pills or drugs. This therefore means that a larger part of the population is now becoming immune to these drugs and when they actually require a course of antibiotics they will not work as they have been given them in the wrong situation and this means that alternate drugs need to be given, which are not always as effective. Also antibiotics that are currently being used to treat patients when they are sick and losing their effectiveness as the diseases are becoming more resistant and are changing so that the drugs we develop cannot destroy the infection or viruses anymore. An example of this is when a patient comes in for a simply thing like a cough, they are prescribed antibiotics even when this will not actually help the cough as the cough will naturally go away on its own.
