D1- provides evidence of how the planned curriculum activities can promote learning.

Planned curriculum activities can promote learning by following the EYFS curriculum and making the children helping them learn communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development and the specific areas of learning are literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. The practitioner has to meet these requirements such as I did a floating and sinking activity with groups of children this fell into science as well as communication and language and understanding the world/the world. Every activity has to have some educational meaning behind it but they have to make it fun for the children as well such as going on a bear hunt and learning about bears. This was a good example as they are also learning about the world because they got shown a book full of animals and had to point out the pictures of bears, they then got asked where a polar bear lived and where the brown bear lived and the next day they got asked the same question and they knew the brown bear lived in the woods as they learnt on the bear hunt and the polar bear lives in the snow.

With my sinking and floating activity the children mark made on the sheet I had made with the items that I used stuck to it so they knew what they were so if it sank they would make a mark in red pen in the sink box and if it floated they would do it in green in the float box this then links to writing and getting use to holding a pencil properly.

They also get taught to take turns during an activity which is important when they progress into further education after they finish preschool as well as language skills and have speech therapists in to help children that have speech impairments to improve their quality of speech.

My second activity was a salad spinner paint activity when planning this I had to take into consideration what the children would learn and that

Multi agency teams work together to improve a child’s development. Initially a health visitor or clinic would identify problems when a child is taken for check ups. Depending on the action needed the child could be referred to a speech therapist such as SALT. If the child/young person was of school age then the SENCO (special educational needs coordinator) would be well aware of the problems and put interventions into place, outside agencies will then be informed and a ILP (individual learning plan) drawn up which will consist of activities that will benefit the child’s development. Some children have therapy in school hours, which is coordinated between the SENCO and relevant agencies. Time out in class will be given for the child who will then learn different techniques on speech, language and communication. Teaching assistants will be part of the ILP and be instructed by the agencies and class teacher on how to utilize these interventions…

When planning lessons or group activities, I take the aim into consideration and base everything around that. For example if I were to deliver a lesson on numbers up to ten for a group of children who could confidently count up to 8 then I would firstly look at what resources I could use to educate them on their numbers up to ten. I would then ask my colleagues what activities/resources they found that best helped in similar situations. For children to learn it is important that they are enjoying any activities in place it opens up their minds and they are keen to learn new things. I would then plan where I would take the lesson; I find the more active a lesson is the more the children relish it. Because of the age the children are full of energy and it’s good to use it in a positive and safe way. So as long as the weather permits, I would plan the activity on the playground, if not then the hall. I would use bright resources, as there’s more of a chance of the children remembering them. It is important to choose the right resources that will teach the children exactly what you need. Taking into account that the children need help learning their numbers from 8-10 that is what ill be doing. My activity will be based on that the children can count from 0-8 without a problem, its getting up to 10 then they are struggling with.…

For this activity I did corn flour and used the age range of 1-3 year olds. I completed this activity on a lino floor so it was easy and safe for me and also the other children to play. I done it on 2 tables put together which made a red hexagon. I made sure I only had 4 children at one time because there were only 4 aprons I could use at the time. To make sure I planned effectively, the day before I went round to the nursery’s play shed and made sure they had a tray that I could do the activity on, I then proceeded to make a list so I knew what I had to bring in the next day. When it got to the next day I placed the red hexagon table on the lino floor with aprons on 4 chairs for the children to sit on. To make sure I followed the health and…

Evaluation of learning activities helps us to know the strength and weakness of the activities. It helps to understand how well the children have understood the task. It helps us to know whether they have achieved the learning outcome of that particular activity. As stated earlier, it is important for the children to feel involved and challenged during the activity. If we feel that they are able to finish the activity very quickly or were feeling bored, then it is necessary to make it more engaging the next time. While delivering the activity if we feel that it catered to only some children in the group/ class, then we should adapt it as per the need of the group/class. Last week, children had to look at the shapes and write the names on the…

These are the activities: Make a boat out of recycled objects, Mud Brick Houses, Junk Mail Crafts, Leaf Family, Plant seeds, Make a birdfeeder, Birdwatching, Take a hike, Go for a bike in the nature, Visit the farmer’s market, Search for wildflower(5). At the mud brick houses activities kids create their own bricks using not much more than what comes straight from the earth. At the Junk mail crafts kids craft an unuse junk mail and turning it into an eco project. It turns negative things to a positive things. In the leaf family activites kids Kids will spend their afternoon searching the forest for leaves of all shapes and sizes in order to create people, animals or whatever else they would like. It’s a perfect combination of exploring nature and flexing their creative muscles. At the plant seeds activities kids were ask to grow their plant on their own.
