CUSTOMER ANALYSIS

Success begins with understanding customer needs and motivation. As explained in Principles of Marketing by Kotler and Armstong, “some of the most amazing companies of the coming few years will be businesses that understand how to wrap technology beautifully around human needs so that it matters to people.” (P. Kotler, p.135)

Motorola enables customers to get the best android phone available with Moto X. Moto X is an Android smartphone developed and manufactured by Motorola Mobility. It was the long awaited collaboration between Motorola and Google. When it comes to mobile devices, the primary buyers for this device are consumers who are busy throughout the day such as the working class and need a mobile device that has shortcuts and is fulfills their needs during a busy day. Consumer also include the upper, middle, and working class, who are now able to afford a quality mobile device at a lower cost compared to other mobile devices averaging in the $200s. Consumers for Moto X include those who enjoy taking photos hassle-free. Moto X is also for consumers who enjoy having access to more than 1 million apps and games on Google Play. (Motorola.com, 2014)

Released in August 2013, it was among the company’s first new products after its acquisition by Google in 2012. Initially developed as the “X Phone”, Moto X was primarily aimed at mainstream consumers, distinguished by features taking advantage of voice recognition and contextual awareness, the ability for users to custom-order the device in their own choice of color options, and emphasizing the fact that the phone was being assembled in the United States.

Design: Motorola measured hundreds of hands to make sure Moto X fits comfortably in consumers. It 's curved. It’s comfortable. It’s approachable.

Active Display: Introducing a better way to get your notifications. It 's everything consumers want to know, when consumers want to know it.
