Cultural Diversity Competency In The Criminal Justice System
In a general sense, diversity refers to the variety of human qualities among different people and groups. To be more specific, diversity refers to the social, ethnic, or gender variety in a community of people. The four topics focusing on are multiculturalism, cultural diversity, religious diversity, and diversity competency in the Criminal Justice System. By using keywords, concepts, and themes will help to analyze the arguments and dilemmas that are presented in the said topics. As well as, by providing examples from articles allows the reader to connect and gain a better understanding of the topics.

However, only in Canada, multiculturalism is a national ideology and a state policy. Furthermore, Canada institutionalized multicultural policy in the 1980s (Leung, 2011). Which made Canada the first nation to make a policy of multiculturalism part of its national constitution. Multiculturalism was referred to in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms adopted in 1982 (Leung. 2011). Multiculturalism is part of the four state ideologies. The four ideologies are as follows: multiculturalism ideology, civic ideology, assimilation ideology, and ethnist ideology.
