Cultural Anthropology Personal Statement
Human diversity has always called my attention, especially when it comes to discovering and studying the behavior of a specific species and the relationships between social organizations, that is why anthropology is the answer to my dream of working with intellectuality and passion. Being part of a unique culture which I am very proud to call Colombia, I would love to have a deeper study of cultures around the world and through history as a society, my dream is to help understand cultural, biological and physical behaviors of People from a social group. Also fundamental laws and the process of cultural heritage and evolution, involving individuals and populations. To demonstrate an ability to relate theory to empirically grounded research that will help to equip me with an era of globalization in which I will need to understand and interact with societies and cultures beyond my own, including visual culture, and I think Regis University will help me to be successful in this area.
Being part of a visual culture, art has influenced me to express my ideas and understand others, Because art is about crossing boundaries and seeing things in different ways it can be a vehicle for public discussion, understanding social issues, and building social connections. Through participation and political action, citizens can shape their community to better reflect their values. Every culture develops some kind of art to impact history. As an artist, I relate art to cultural behaviors and community feelings, this helps me to see perspectives and cultural diversity as a whole in their own unique
