Cuckoo's Nest Alternate Ending
Author's note: In case you didn't realize, the perspective of this chapter is based on that of the boy. Moreover, I decided to change the perspective of "Abandoned Mist" into that of third person as I am having a difficult time adjusting between characters. I will also make changes to first chapter in order to align with the remaining chapters.

"Hey, wake up."

A voice was calling for him. The voice seemed strangely comforting to the boy, but he was unable to tell who it was. The boy tried opening his eyes to see the face of the individual that was calling for him. All he was able to see were strands of black hair before the exhaustion

The boy sat down at the end of the table which is where he was normally situated and was eagerly waiting for his mother's homemade risotto. He could smell the sweet scent of pineapple and coconut along with the smell of fresh parsley and clover diffusing into the air and into his nose causing the boy to drool. Wiping off the drool on his face, his mother placed a plate of pineapple and coconut risotto in front of him. The strong aroma bomb lured him in and within minutes, the boy was done with his meal.

The boy's parents watched him happily during the time the he was devouring his meal like that of an animal. His mom took off her apron and left it on the kitchen counter while his father left his newspaper on the table and stood up. The boy's parents walked out of the kitchen and onto the deck of the ship prompting him to ask, "Where are you going?" The boy dropped his spoon onto his plate and followed his parents as he felt an aura of fear surround his heart. Called it

"Well then, your mother and I will be leaving." His father added. Both of his parents turn away, hand in hand, facing the sea.

"No, father, mother! Don't go! Don't leave me behind again!" Tears were collecting in his eyes as he tries to reach his hand out to stop them, but the chains binding him, restricted his movements.

They jumped. Ignoring their son's cries and protests. They jumped into the sea and never to be seen again.

He jolted upwards in surprise, crashing into something hard. Massive amounts of sweat was trickling down the boy's face. He was panting heavily and opened his mouth, gasping for air. It felt like if he was shut off from all the oxygen in the world. Opening his eyes, he saw a girl with black hair, clutching her nose and groaning in pain.

"Ah, sorry for bumping into you."

"No, it's okay. I'm fine." The girl said with a mild expression on her face.

An awkward silence filled the air. The boy nor the girl knew what to say, but it was the girl that broke the silence between them.

The black hair girl mumbled "Um..hello, my name is Anami. I lived on the house directly in front of the pier you were sitting on. What's your

It all begins in an insane asylum with a half-Native American schizophrenic named Chief Bromden pretending to be deaf and dumb to avoid the typical harassment the other patients go through by the Black Boys, three African American patients conditioned to be Nurse Ratched’s bodyguards (more like lapdogs), and Nurse Ratched herself, the big breasted, fine-aged nurse who is known as “Big Nurse” in the asylum for having the reputation of running the asylum. The Black Boys are beginning their ritual shaving, as they do every morning, and they decided to start with Chief Bromden. In fear, Bromden goes to hide in the broom closet and he begins reminiscing about his past, growing up on the Columbia River with his father. This memory is cut abruptly when one of the Black Boys finds him in the closet; they put him in the chair to begin shaving him, then a fog begins to cover the room… As the fog clears up, he is relieved because he thought he was taken to the Shock Shop, the room where patients are given electroshock treatment. Right as he begins to relax on the chair, a brand new patient is admitted to the mental institution. He is known as Randall McMurphy, an Irish Ginger who has had a problem with gambling. When he gets there, Ratched makes it her mission to get the Black Boys to shower him, but he continually avoids getting that shower and introduces himself to all of the other patients. He shares his story about how he came from a work farm called “Pendleton” and that he is at this institute because he is “a psychopath”. After introducing himself to all the Acutes and Chronics, Acutes being the patients with temporary or short-term conditions and Chronics being the patients with more severe mental disorders, he circles the Acutes, asking for the “bull goose loony”, which is his fancy lingo for “whomever is in charge among the patients.” Billy Bibbit, one of the Acutes who has a stuttering problem, tells McMurphy that a…

Original Summary: McMurphy wishes to go on a fishing trip with the other patients and a prostitute he knows, but Nurse Ratched denies him permission. The doctor later ends up allowing them to go, but Chief has an internal conflict within himself on whether or not he should go with them and risk revealing that he isn’t actually deaf and dumb. Later that night, Chief accidentally reveals to McMurphy that he can hear and talk, and when McMurphy tells him that he should expose everything he hears, Chief says that he isn’t bold enough like McMurphy to do that. McMurphy makes a deal with him, that if he pays Chief’s fee for the trip and helps make him stronger, then Chief has to help him lift a control panel in the tub room. The next day, when the group goes and stops at a gas station, the attendant tries to take advantage of them, but McMurphy says they’re crazy killers, causing the patients to see that they can use their illnesses to their advantage. After the trip, McMurphy sees that Billy is attracted to the prostitute, later setting up a date for them…

Characters in the novel One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey have their own way of controlling the ward. Each person tries to have a say in what goes on in the ward and the process of things to benefit themselves. Nurse Ratched controls the ward through fear, Mc Murphy controls the ward through rebellion, and the Orderlies control the ward through terror. They either worked together to do this, like the Orderlies and Nurse Ratchet, or they were completely against each other, like McMurphy and Nurse Ratchet. They each use these different methods to accomplish the same goal.…

In the final scene of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Chief Bromden is the main character. The only two characters in this scene are Bromden and McMurphy, and even though McMurphy would be considered the main character of the entire film, Bromden is the main character of this scene because he has the strongest desire. In fact, in this one scene, Bromden has many desires that to him, are life or death. Initially, after hearing rumours of McMurphy’s escape, when McMurphy returns to his bed, Bromden thinks that he has returned in order to escape with him. At this point, Bromden’s desire is simply to escape the ward. He then realizes that McMurphy has not returned to escape, but that he has actually been lobotomized. When he sees this, he smothers McMurphy to death, knowing that McMurphy would not want to live like this, or have the others see him in this state. At this point in the scene, Bromden’s desire is to protect McMurphy’s pride. Once he fulfills this, he returns to his initial desire, as well as what used to be McMurphy’s desire to escape. He achieves this by using McMurphy’s escape plan; lifting the impossibly heavy hydrotherapy console and throwing it through the window. In doing this, Bromden not only achieves his own desire, but also completes the goal that McMurphy was unable to complete. Throughout the movie, Chief Bromden’s status quo is that he is inactive and lacks opinions and feelings. All of the other patients at the hospital think he is “deaf and dumb”. McMurphy is the only one to later discover that Bromden is neither deaf, nor mute. Before the tension in the final scene takes place, Bromden seems too passive and nonchalant to escape on his own, and he definitely seems much too harmless to murder anyone. In this scene, Bromden is…
