Tectonic plate’s movement creates ocean basins, mid-ocean ridges, through collision. Colliding plates push sedimentary materials into an uplifted mass of rock that contains numerous folds and faults. The Earth has undergone a number of mountain building periods. The process of creation is first by the accumulation of sediments then the tectonic collision causes rock deformation and crystal uplift and finally the isocratic rebound continues to cause uplift despite erosion and causes the development of new mountain peaks through block faulting.…

I learned more than I anticipated while studying the Introduction to Geography. There are Four Geographic Traditions; Earth Science Tradition, Culture-Environment Tradition, Location Tradition and Area Analysis Tradition. The Earth Science Tradition covers physical geography such as landforms, natural resources, weather and climate. I found the text on natural resources to be very helpful, informative and important for our current economy. The Culture-Environment Tradition discusses population geography, spatial interaction and culture geography. During one of the class discussions about population I learned that in just 22 hours the world population increased by more than 233,000 people. The Location Tradition goes over economic geography, human impact on the environment and an urban world. While reading about the human impact on the environment I learned about the Great Garbage Patches and their impact on the wildlife. The Area Analysis Tradition covers the regional concept, discussing the nature of regions and how they apply to the traditions of geography.…

Leopold, Harris and Watson(2005,p89) define ethics to be similar as ‘morals’. ‘The words ethics and morals have similar etymological roots – ethics has its origin in ancient Greek in the word ethikos meaning authority of custom and tradition, while ‘moral is derived from the Latin word mos, which also refers to power linked to tradition and custom. When it comes to business, Manna and Chakraborti(2010) justify that work ethics in today’s world does not just deal with ethical behaviour of an employee, but also ethical behaviour of an employer where, along with earning profits and expecting employees to work towards achieving company goals, the employer has the responsibility to include principles of care while dealing with the employee. Different cultures see ethics differently. Fisher and Lovell(2006) describe that different countries have dissimilar customary principles…
