Cry Baby Review
Cry-Baby is a 1990 American teen musical film written and directed by John Waters. The film did not achieve high audience numbers in its initial release, but has subsequently become a cult classic and spawned a Broadway musical of the same name. John Waters first went mainstream with the 1988 classic Hairspray and then defied fans’ opinion. They complained he had gone all lame and mainstream by daring to follow it up with a full-on musical comedy. The film is a parody of teen musicals (particularly Grease) and centers on a group of delinquents that refer to themselves as "drapes" and their interaction with the rest of the town and its other subculture, the "squares", in 1950s Baltimore, Maryland. Cry-Baby is his delightful tribute to Elvis, juvenile delinquency and rockabilly music. It is a real pleasure to watch how Johnny Depp twitching and crooning like Elvis.
On the right side of the tracks lives the proper (Amy Locane), all blond hair and crinoline skirts. Her grandmother, Mrs. Vernon-Williams, runs a charm school and is the local dictator of good taste and deportment. Her idea of fun is to host talent shows where "square" teens sing "Mr. Sandman" in barbershop harmony.
On the wrong side of the tracks lives Cry-Baby Walker (Depp), the delinquent orphan son of the executed Alphabet Killer. His gang includes his pregnant sister Pepper (who already has two kids), her boyfriend Milton (Darren E. Burrows), their friend Hatchet-Face (Kim McGuire), and Wanda (Traci Lords). They all hang out down at Turkey Point, a woodland camp run by Grandma and Grandpa (Susan Tyrrell and Iggy Pop). This crowd, known as "drapes", likes to drink, party, and drive fast cars. Cry-Baby fronts a band in which all his friends are members.
As Cry-Baby and Allison fall deeper in love, their romance is accompanied by a winning soundtrack, a mix of Elvis-like rockabilly and retro '50s fun, including a joyous Bunny Hop down a street.
I can say that I am a movie-addicted person. So, it is

    Spirited Away Review

Spirited away is an enchanting, dazzling, and gorgeously drawn fairy tale that will leave the viewers a little more curious and fascinated by the world around them. This Japanese animated fantasy film was directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki, and was released on July 27, 2001. The story was based on Miyazaki’s friend’s ten year old daughter, who visited his house every summer. The movie portrays a sullen ten year old girl, Chihiro Ogino (voice by Daveigh Chase), and her parents who were driving to their new home, when her father takes a wrong turn and ends up at what they think is an abandoned amusement park, but really is an alternate reality inhabited by monsters and spirits. Witch Yubaba turns her parents into pigs, and in order to find a way to free herself and her parents and escape into the human world, Chihiro takes a job working at Yubaba’s bathhouse. This movie can compare to ‘Alice in the Wonderland’ because they both tell the story of a 10-year-old girl who wanders into a world of strange creatures and illogical rules. It was a little hard to interpret the meaning and moral of the movie at first, but it was still a pleasure to watch. The cinematography was well done and the animations were well flowing and seemed to dance off the screen. Director Miyazaki’s drawing style is incredible, and is much different from classical Japanese graphic artists, with its clear lines, rich detail, subtle uses of colors, and the realistic deception of fantastic elements. The music in this film was composed and conducted by Miyazaki's regular collaborator Joe Hisaishi, and performed by the New Japan Philharmonic. The music was beautifully put together, and in the special features of the DVD, Hayao Miyazaki explains how the song in fact inspired him to create Spirited Away. Therefore, I give this film an A-, and Spirited away is a work of pagan imagination that everyone should watch…

Doss was born in Blue Mountain, Alabama as Nancy Hazle to Lou and James Hazle. Nannie was one of five children; she had one brother and three sisters. Both Nannie and her mother hated James, who was a controlling father and husband with a nasty streak. There is evidence that Doss was conceived illegitimately, as James and Lou married after 1905; census records also show that in 1905 she and her mother were living on their own.[4] She had an unhappy childhood. She was a poor student who never learned to read well; her education was erratic because her father forced his children to work on the family farm instead of attending school. When she was around 7 years old, the family was taking a train to visit…

The sound of beeping awakens you. With difficulty and trouble, you force yourself out of bed, your brain still not yet conscious. You get your uniform and proceed to head to the bathroom to get ready for school. Minutes pass by quickly and you are walking to school, lost in deep thought. For some time now, you have not yet listened to the world around you. As you gently shift your focus towards the world before you, your ears process the sound of anger at its highest level. You cannot believe what you hear. Vexation fills the air and you are now in an ever so dangerous environment. As you turn the corner, the sounds of the shouting get louder and louder. You can now hear loud running. Your eyeballs move to look around and then you see it…

There's a scene in the new musical "RENT" that may be the quintessential romantic moment of the '90s. Roger, a struggling rock musician, and Mimi, a junkie who's a dancer at an S/M club, are having a lovers' quarrel when their beepers go off and each takes out a bottle of pills. It's the signal for an "AZT break," and suddenly they realize that they're both HIV-positive. Clinch.…

The movie portrays the historical activist very well, including the surrounding characters as well as the actual events that took place during his time in office.…
