Cross-Cultural Perspectives We all know of McDonald’s a being one of the biggest, popular, and best food chain restaurant around the world. The fast food chain was started in 1955 by Ray Kroch in California. The restaurant took pride in providing hot French fries, delicious hamburgers, and their speedy drive-thru service. The fast food chain started with one small restaurant and got restaurants all over the US and other countries. McDonald’s main mission is to keep serving a budget and healthier friendly menu. This was their opportunity for togetherness as a community united as one. They saw it as a way for people to get to know one another, a way to keep their families as one, and a way for them is around each to communicate. So with the McDonald’s first overseas restaurant not offering somewhere it sit and just a counter that was a very big issue for them (Megan, 2009). To take care of this problem McDonald’s offered a friendlier and homer place to eat and brought in tables and chairs. The restaurants that are located in Europe makes the most money, but the US is not far behind in sales with that being said in 2007 the restaurants in Europe alone made close to nine billion dollars. McDonald’s is still the biggest chain of successful restaurants in the world and they have starting more and more restaurants globally. There are also a lot of McDonald’s chains that are privately owned that are huge successes too. It makes me want to go out and buy my own
