Introduction
Recording is a vital part of all kind of transactions. The widespread use of computers broadened the scope of recording process, and the term data processing now frequently encompasses recording. Data processing, in computer science is the analysis and organization of data by repeated use one or more computer programs. Records management is a core responsibility in any organization, in the same way that human resources management and financial management are core function. Records management should be recognized as a formal program within any government or other agency, which means that the organization needs to provide the organizational and financial support necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the records program. Records involve managing records in all formats from their creation to their ultimate disposal. The growing use of computers and the consequent creation of more and more electronic records are putting pressure on governments and other organization to manage increasingly decentralized record-keeping systems. As a result, many organizations find that it is more and more difficult to locate information when it is required. The end result is, at best, a disjointed approach to office work and, at worst, chaos.
Good records management is fundamental to a well-functioning organization and offices since it supports activity that provides a basis for efficient services. In this regard, we have to develop a Criminal Record Management System in keeping view of the distributed client server computing technology, in mind. The specifications have been normalized to eliminate all the anomalies that may arise due to the database transaction that are executed by the general users and the organizational administration.
