A slight breeze blew throughout the dandy forest, swaying the stiff lifeless trees and blowing the black stained leaves across my bare white feet. As I stumbled across the dead landscape, a slight fog swam around blending in with the increasingly falling snow. Hundreds of dark wood surrounding me seemed to slowly cave in, creating a narrow cave-like passage. An eerie feeling swept over me, and I stopped completely, analysing every detail around me. The smog became thicker, blinding the scenery and almost completely covering my vision. I sensed an inhuman presence watching me, and flinched whenever a snapping sound came from a faraway distance. I slowly turned around and began pacing in the direction I came from. The fog smothered me but I kept running,…

The wooded area surrounding the park has a mystifying feel with the sun setting and the strange odor of a dank basement coming from its small pond. The air feels sticky and warm this time of the year and the trees blocking the breeze makes it even more muggy than usual. The open and empty field gives me a feeling of isolation and the darkening skies has an ominous look. I can hear the shrieking muffled sounds of animals nearby, but without being able to see what’s beyond the blurry tree line, it’s hard to know if what I’m hearing is wild and aggressive or tame and timid. I can taste the musty fall air on my tongue as the breeze…

The mountains were stone dark, secured with trees whose hues were a blend of woodsy cocoa, knoll, key lime, and margarita green. Scattered powder-puff mists gradually fled over the sky and the sun feed like a bolt. Seeing this made me feel like I inadvertently touched base to paradise. I breath gradually, attempting to recall each snapshot of me being encompassed by woodland, sky, and mountains. We began climbing the gigantic mountain, talking, grinning and chuckling together. After like an hour we sat down for a moment on an immense uneven and dusty rock close to the waterfall. The wind that blew through the trees into our confronts now conveyed a light sprinkle from the waterfall, and a clue of peace. The sound of the wind shrieking, the waterfall smashing against the stones and the fowls singing their wonderful tunes, made me feel considerably more joyful than I was at that point. We began moving to the top once more. My legs began to hurt yet I didn't give an indication of my torment. I raised my eyes to the sky, and my sight fell on the hawk who skimmed over the wind. At that time, I craved flying as well, over the mountains and over the oceans. I strolled slower now, thinking how brilliant it would be to fly, and the greater part of the…

We sat in a circle as we learned a little about the history of meditation and spiritual journeys in other cultures. We each took a sip of tea as we learned what might be achieved through our participation, and noticed how the rest of the room started to fade to black as we stared at the center candle flame. Phame then instructed us to lie down and put the blindfolds on. He turned the music up, and everyone was quiet. The music seemed to change as I listened intently.…

Now it doesn’t matter if your mind wanders…. It doesn’t matter if you lose awareness altogether…. All that matters now is your own relaxation…. so just be comfortable… allow yourself the pleasure of sinking deeper and deeper into the comfortable lounge. Just let yourself drift into that relaxation as I count slowly to 7, using the words “drifting deeper and deeper”, in between each count.…

Every morning starts with a sunrise that is more intense and awe-inspiring as the one the day before. During the day there is a bright sunshine that is never hot, but warm and cozy. The sparkling clear blue sky is spattered with just the right touch of billowing white clouds that you can reach out and touch; cool, misty cotton. At dusk, the sun gradually hides and leaves behind a trail of magnificent colors, bright pinks, dark purples, oranges and the blues that slowly loosen their grip on the day to the moon and stars. At night everything is surrounded with the faintest soft white glow. Just enough light for there to not be a need for streetlights.…

This silence is a poison. My ears become sharper and my mind more paranoid, every snap of a twig is the predator. It is disorienting to be almost blinded but given the ears of a wolf. For each aroma my brain jumps to the most fearsome thing it could be and my body prepares for flight, fright or freeze. For the most part I just freeze, running will just give my position away and I'm not much of a fighter. The silence only seems to intensify my fright, along with the darkness that’s robbing me of my best sense replacing it with paralysing fear. All I can do is wait while the blackness comes and pray that the dawn is not far behind. The earth is at it’s richest tone having bathed in the rain, I sit on the damp ground, feeling the frigid water seep into my jeans. My heart can beat all it wants, but this body won't move until daylight breaks through the canopy above. I want to see tomorrow enough to make me hold this position for as long as it takes. With my hands resting in the soil and my back to an oak, with the rough bark scrubbing at my skin. I remain, waiting,…

The bright blue background and High Mountain tops over 10 feet taller than me standing at 5’8’’. The slightly chilly breeze that lightly brushes my skin leaving small goose bumps throughout the surface of my whole body. The sound of the waterfall and view of the lake so translucent I can see the yellow fish all the way to the bottom. The trees singing in the background mimicking the echo of the water. The dirt soft and warm in-between my fingers from the pulsating raises of the sun. The rays drift in and out from the cover of the small puffy white and gray clouds. There is an overview of the city and tiny bugs in my peripheral vision that fly above me, there I sit on the mountain side with only the company of myself. I mentally evaluate my…

I crept out of the room quietly and tried to make my way through the cottage without waking the Bertram family. I stepped outside and onto the silky sand that seemed to stretch on forever. I jogged to one of the beach's most powdery sand dunes and jumped in feet first, sand rising around my shins. Running the sand through my fingers as if to tell if it were real, I was deep in thought. Whether or not I was dead and this was heaven was probably my…

Then a finger of supernal light poked through the misty mesh. It was followed by a whole loom of light, filtering down in seams of gold. Like the luminal glow of the gods, it chased the shadows, banished the gloom and spilled into spaces where the mist once stalked. The fluty piping of a songbird split the silence just as the forest became flooded with light. A noise of trilling and warbling detonated all around me as the lonely forest came alive with the trees. I darted between shafts of lustrous-gold light as I went, admiring the butterflies. They pirouetted in the air, their wings a-whirr like little ripples of silk.…
