It is important during creative and critical thinking to not judge ideas early in the process, it is necessary to treat all ideas as if they may contain the seeds of something potentially useful in the near or far future. I was reasonably well prepared for every aspect of the exam, except for the essay part, of which I completely forgot was part of the exam. I was required to think extremely creatively and critically, when I was faced with the issue of forgetting the appropriate translations of words from English to French. Being forced to make the best of my vocabulary and to use the most proper fitting words as possible, under a tight time restraint, I had to work hard to try and find replacements for the words. This is a good example of generating ideas that are are spontaneous (due to the time restrictions) and yet also well thought through (due to the fact it was an exam). This meant that I had to think of relevant replacements for these words that I had forgotten as well as disqualify words that I knew I could not spell fully correct or did not have an accurate …show more content…
By me being a leader of a team I am able to develop positive relationships with girls my own age and we were able to share the same interest of netball. An example of when I had to regulate my emotion was when my team had found out about an absolutely horrifying accident that happened to a key and an unconditionally crucial player in our team. Her bubbly personality was missed by many throughout the club and it was my job, as a leader, to motivate my team under the harsh circumstances. In this situation I had to make sure that I comforted myself but also my teammates. Critical thinking involves the ability to weigh evidence, examine arguments, and construct rational bases for generally accepted beliefs. In order to establish a theoretical basis for studying critical thinking, a great quantity of research has been done. Critical thinking is not only the ability to reason and construct arguments, but also the ability to examine the reasoning processes involved and being able to evaluate their appropriateness and effectiveness. This "judgment" aspect is what makes critical thinking more than just problem solving. It is not sufficient to be able to apply problem-solving strategies to a particular problem; a true critical thinker must be able to choose appropriate strategies and even create new ones when necessary.…

Critical thinking is a mechanism of observing something beyond your first impression and opinion. “Instead of simply responding with what you believe or feel about a subject, critical thinking guides you to think- to examine issues fully and objectively, test your own assumptions for bias, seek additional information, consider alternative interpretations, ask questions, and delay judgment”. Critical thinking is the reason why every professional writer, writes as good as they do. They don’t record their immediate observations; instead they explore the idea and analyze it fully. This process often allows the writer to have another point of view/perspective on the topic in which they are exploring.…

I think the four major sources of stress in my life would be money being number one. This is because I am an international student who moved from Hong Kong to America. Having doing this I had to learn how to manage my own money for example rent, bills , and also enough for entertainment. When I was living in Hong Kong with my family I didn’t have to worry about all these factors so it came easy to me. Family would be another source of stress in my life but only because of me being away by myself in another country. This is probably because this is the first time I have been away from home and having to look after myself and the ‘money’ issue my parents especially tend to get too worried, which in some cases cause a lot of fights. Im not saying this is something bad but defiantly something that can trigger me at some points. My social skills is a definite source of stress in my life, This being because I am not very good at interacting, socializing and communicating with other human beings. Some of my interactions and relationships can be very stressful and tension filled, and i almost come off as being a very unsociable person.…

These particular thinking skills are deemed to be higher levels of thought and through this higher level of thinking, help us make both personal and professional decisions. According to Le Cornu (2009), critical thinking is defined “as the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered” (p.1). In taking this approach one must be ableto think critically through reflection, observation of the major components and also incorporate some creativity to come up with unique ways to address the situation. Utilizing this approach guides us and gives us a strategy to incorporate both critical and creative thinking which work hand in hand to allow us to arrive at our final decision.…
