The Craigslist Killer, Philip Markoff

Philip Markoff was born on February 12, 1986. As a child he was raised in a Roman Catholic family. From elementary all the way through high school, teachers said that he was a well-behaved child of caring parents, a diligent student. During high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society, the golf team, the bowling team and the history club. In 2007 he graduated from SUNY Albany with a degree in biology.Afterwards, he attended Boston University for medical. At the same time he started gambling and he accumulated a large debt. Also finding love of his life. Many people believed that his gambling debts was the main reason that he started committed crimes which eventually committing murder. Markoff was suspected of three robberies and one of those robberies resulted in a death. When he got in the victim room with his victims from craigslist he point a gun at them to frighten which enable him to steal their item. His second victim which he was first murder was Julissa Brisman, people believe that he shot her because she was struggled against him. Markoff was captured during a routine traffic stop in the south of Boston. According to reports, Markoff was headed to a local casino with several thousand dollars in cash. The Boston police force knew how Markoff looked by the video camera footage obtained from the hotels. He was accused of murder, armed robbery and kidnapping. But he had no previous criminal record. He was arraigned on murder charges on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Markoff pled "not guilty." After the hearing, police received a search warrant for Markoff's home. Officials say that they found a semi-automatic weapon and restraints in the Markoff's apartment. . August 15, 2010,Markoff was found dead in his cell at Boston's Nashua Street Jail.
