Courage And Faith Research Paper
Courage and Faith: Pillars of Successful Marketing The implementation of a successful marketing program for a product and/or service lies in the idea of having complete faith in the product and/or service, of high quality and functionality, to meet the market's needs and expectations, and to courageously initiate such an endeavor, in spite of the magnitude of challenges that threatens the vitality of the organization. A marketer's job consistently involves the idea of the uncertain and the chartering of undiscovered, new market segments and territories, that may result in great profitability for the company or complete utter financial implosion. In order for a product and/or service to be marketed effectively, the company must project high …show more content…
The environment must encourage their employees to have confidence in their abilities to meet the demands of the market, by introducing, or re-innovating, the company's brand image in the consumer's perception. This feeling of confidence in the quality levels of the product and/or service offered by the company will implement that same level of inspirational confidence in the minds of their consumers, thereby making the company's brand image more attractive. It's the marketing side of transformational leadership theory; inspiring employees to participate in the complete life cycle of the product and/or service, encourage them to make mistakes, and use those learning instances for further employee development. As cited by Dust (2013), according to Kark, Shamir, Chen (2003), Shamir et al. (1993), and Bass and Stedlmeier (1990), "transformational leaders engage and empower followers by promoting …show more content…
Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go", is one of the mostly plainly, laid-out description of transformational leadership application that strategic marketers and market managers must pay attention to. The scripture, as it states verbatim, that God commands His children and followers to have courage in the pursuits of one's endeavors and in accomplishing the tasks assigned to us by Him, and to never let fear deter or prevent oneself from carrying them out. He acknowledges that human beings are imperfect and are prone to mistakes, but He always reassures that He will forever be with those who pursue His good works in spite of any obstacles that the world might craft to impede them. The marketing organization and top management must possess the same mentality in regards to their employees in the creation, marketing, and implementation of a product and/or service the company wishes to offer to the market. The top management must understand that marketing into new geographic regions, industries, segments, etc., requires massive amounts of courage and tenacity to brave the many of the inevitable challenges that the organization will face, such as competition, possible complete failure, etc. After all, every massive accomplishment and endeavor throughout human history always contained levels of risk. Winston Churchill once said, “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” Churchill’s definition of courage has this duality to it in the sense that courage is not just being able to fight this and that, but it is also being able to control that and fight only when necessary. Courage can be defined in so many ways and have so many aspects, but what is true courage? Despite common belief, courage is not just doing everything possible to help people because even helping others can cause damage. Aspects of true courage include control, including giving up control, as well as the ability to give it your all or even give nothing. In its purest form, courage is the ability to assess a situation and decide whether standing up and fighting or standing down and letting go of control is the best thing to do to for the greatest good. This definition of courage can be seen when standing up or standing down can aggravate a situation, help other people, and advance situations if not done in the proper moment.…

As Bass (1985) reckoned that a transformational leader would motivate subordinates to do more than what they originally expected to do. This theory describes that leaders are a crucial instrument to build and foster follower commitment, challenge, inspire and motivate followers to achieve a better performance with higher efficiency. Transformational leaders emphasise on noticing followers’ individual needs and potentials and helping them grow and develop (Bass, Riggio, 2016). It is also identified with the Leader/Member Exchange Theory and the focal point is the personal development of followers or employees. Under this theory, followers are motived to reach higher achievements to obtain self-actualisation needs instead of low-level needs as discussed in Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. Working for these leaders, followers have the most precious opportunities to learn, to develop themselves, to be empowered, to be responsible for their own decisions within the firm. I suppose that acting as effective communicators, these leaders build and maintain the most close-knit relationship with their followers by enabling them to address issues and develop their own strategies, which gives them a sense of control. They build trust from their followers by willing to share internal, crucial information and encouraging them to give feedback in…
