Country Music Research Paper
When it comes to concerts, with both, tickets are expensive and hard to find before they sell out. With alternative music, however, people attend these concerts to listen to music, meet fellow fans, and gain the possibility of being in close proximity with their favorite artists. There are mosh pits, but no matter the situation, fans always look out for each other and make sure no one ends up becoming seriously hurt. At country concerts, people attend to get drunk with live background music. At a more local example, Country on the River, it is a known fact that drinking alcohol and partying is the only reason most people attend. Country is comparable to pop in this aspect as well. A vast majority of country artists are attractive, and because of this, it does not matter how well they can actually sing. Producers edit and alter the voices, making it more acceptable for radio. In most cases with alternative artists, the opposite situation occurs. Taking a look at them, not all can be considered entirely attractive by common society. This makes their work more sincere, and it is one of the main reasons I love alternative music. There has always been an air of openness and honesty about the music they make.
There is such a wide range of what can be considered alternative music, which is another reason why I love it so much. The spectrum can start anywhere from Keaton Henson or Vance Joy, to the Civil Wars, David Bowie, and Hozier. Even within those artists lies hundreds of different styles, such as with Keaton Henson. His music can range from soft, sad melodies, to loud, angry lyrics, scratching its way from his throat. With country music, that spectrum is diminishes immensely. All country music sounds the same, making it difficult to decipher which artist is singing, especially with their southern
