1. Introduction Self-esteem is related to passion toward important life activities (Vallerand et al., 2003). In this research, the assumption is that the amount of involvements in the extra-curricular activities and personality traits, specific to extroversion, interacts to influence the self-esteem. No doubt that it is a very interesting topic in the psychology field until now (Harter, 1998).
People having unrealistic high level of self-esteem are more likely to have frustration and being aggressive, easily to lead them to have criminal behavior (Abramson, 1979). To observe that, well-rounded development is very most for Hong Kong youngsters, they may not only focus on their studies, but also to squeeze out time to get involved into many extra-curricular activities. It comes up to the tendency involving more in volunteering and youth work presently. The relationship between basic tendencies and characteristic is adaptation precisely the distinction that we need to explain the stability of personality. In the meanwhile, with the general growth of the path on personality and individual difference, several of the educational and parenting ways are caused and influence Hong Kong students in years. Clearly, the relationship of extraversion and self-esteem are worthy for future research, focusing on the involvement on extra-curricular activity for Hong Kong youngsters.
