16 May 2013

In submitting this paper I will show the stake holders Dr. DoRight (described latter in this

paper as just the Doctor) has to interact with on a daily basis as the President of the

“Universal Human Care Hospital.” I will also compare and contrast the conflicts of

interest that could surface among internal and external stakeholders. I will try to explain

whether or not the Doctor has accomplished his ethical responsibilities by making reports

of any and all illegal acts that may have taken place. I will also give examples of the

deontology and utilitarianism principles and apply them to this case.

irregardless of the objectives and policies of that organization. The best way to

understand who could possibly be a stakeholder in any given circumstance you must first

actions, policies or what happens day to day at the hospital. An External Stakeholder

could be hospitals that they are competitive with, the thousands of patients, supply

organizations, local, State, and Federal Governments, and countless organizations and

the corporations that the Doctor interfaces with on a continuous basis. A patient will be

worried about price increases and the type

This law requires management to certify the accuracy of financial information. Manipulating financial statements to ensure meeting financial predictions is unethical and illegal. There are several important sections in this law, but the main one applying to this case is section 401. Section 401 requires “each financial statement filed with the SEC to reflect all material correcting adjustments that have been identified by the audit firm in accordance with GAAP and the rules and regulations of the commission” (Mintz & Morris, 2011, pg.285). GAAP procedures circumvented in this case portray United Thermostatic Controls in a…

The answer to this question depends to a large degree who the stakeholder is and whether it is a market or nonmarket stakeholder (Lawrence & Weber, 2011). However, in general, it seems that power and influence go hand-in-hand in terms of the most significant role(s) a stakeholder may potentially play in an organization. These two dynamics form the basis for the level of interest a stakeholder has when seeking to affect the organization. Based on the power, influence, and interest of a stakeholder, Boutelle (2004) went so far as to state that, “Projects will succeed or fail primarily based on the actions of people who care enough to defend or oppose them” (para. 19). This statement centers on this theme of power, influence, and interest.…
