“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14.) What does this verse mean, and how does it warn us to stay away from the devil? What are other verses that talk about Satan and how he influences us?
The first time Satan is mentioned in the Bible is in the Garden of Eden. In Hebrew, the word Satan means “the accuser.” But where and how did the story of Satan develop? The book of Isaiah in the fourteenth chapter, verses 12-17 tells us what happened. What happened was that God created Lucifer, perfect and like God.
