Conveniently Shaped Lamp Theory
Just A Conveniently Shaped Lamp: A Theory

Okay, I must sound ridiculous right now, because who tf theorises about a lamp that is supposed to be a fucking joke? But I’ve been thinking about it for awhile, just hear me out.

Basically, the player starts playing the game with two main assumptions, that turn out to be wrong in the end:
• the player and the character are the same person.
• the player names their character.
And what else do we assume? We assume that the first time we play is also Frisk’s first run.
Question: How do we know we’re not wrong again?

Now, you see, Sans is one of the few characters that seems to have knowledge about timelines to some extent. He keeps count on how many times you’ve battled him, he keeps photos and notes

Becuse the soulless genocide can be and is explained by this act, which happens after selling Frisk’s soul.

But the first genocide run? Does Frisk just suddenly turn evil? Is it boredom? There is a lot open to interpretation, and Flowey hints at some things, but I believe that Flowey’s saves and resets are meant to be a parallel to the player, not Frisk, nor Chara. After all, he talks to the player after the true pacifist ending, not Frisk. So I’ve come up with an idea. (Not sure how accurate, probably not very much, but I’ll tell you anyway.)

So: Frisk falls for the first time, and they don’t have determination. Not originally. Frisk dies. Chara encounters them and lets Frisk take Chara’s determination. After all, Flowey is proof that there can exist raw determinatiom without a soul. Frisk doesn’t remember their first and most likely shortest run, as they didn’t have determination prior to encountering Chara. Assuming they met Sans, the conevniently shaped lamp proudly stands in the middle of Snowdin forest the next time they meet and Chara somewhat patiently narrates and describes the Underground to Frisk, as if waiting for something to happen. For Frisk to go berserk and give in to the dark side of Chara’s determination? To their own curiosity?

tl;dr: Maybe the Frisk-Chara-determination part is a bit of a stretch, but I firmly believe, that the fist time I played Undertale wasn’t the first time for Frisk. There had to be at least one non-genocide pre-canon run. This is Undertale. Every word, every line and every pixel is planned and I bet that the conveniently shaped lamp is more than just a

An example supplied by the story would be when Rainsford meets Zaroff and plays his game. Rainsford is searching through the jungle for the shot he heard. He then comes across a mansion, when he goes in, there is a man standing pointing a large revolver dead at his heart. Rainsford then speaks up and says, "I'm no robber. I fell off a yacht. My name is Sanger Rainsford of New York City." The persons name is General Zaroff and then introduces himself to Rainsford. When they are done, Zaroff challenges Rainsford to a game of hunting and if Rainsford wins Zaroff would cheerfully acknowledge himself defeated. If Rainsford loses he would be enslaved in his castle; Rainsford accepts his challenge and Zaroff will start hunting at…

Because the importance of plot and characterization vary based upon a work's classification as either commercial or literary, "The Most Dangerous Game" and "The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber" are very different from one another. In his work, Connell uses the element of surprise to keep his readers wondering what's going to happen next. This surprise element, which is created through Reinsford's series of traps, allows the reader to chronologically navigate the story. Additionally, Connell heavily relies upon chance and coincidence than practicality. Examples of this include Reinsford's miraculous weaving stills and his…

“Was God hiding from us during the killing? It used to be that God and I shared many drinks together as friends. We don’t talk much anymore, but I would like to think that we can one day reconcile over an urwagwa and he will explain everything to me” (Rusesabagina 184). Throughout the novel, Paul Rusesabagina is faced with a never-ending avalanche of struggles that would smother a weaker man. However, he maintains a façade of resilience despite his tribulations and fears, doing so through his eloquence and mastery of the art of conniving. The aforementioned quote brings home the impact such a horrific experience brought upon him, while highlighting his innate tendency toward open communication. This tendency was his greatest assest throughout the genocide, which he exemplified when he said “Today I…

“Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed? Of course not! A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light will shine. For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand. Pay close attention to what you hear, the close you listen, the more understanding you will be given – and you will receive even more.” (Mark, n.d.)…

In the beginning of the story is a young man who is merely more concerned with his backgammon game than the war that is at hand. He is in the beginning portrayed as an ignorant and impatient man, naïve to the fact that he is in fact in the middle of war. As he so simply states to his comrade “If you don’t shoot the dice, I’ll go to the personnel officer right now and ask him to send me. Maybe with those guys. I’ll at least be able to finish a game.” (755) When driving into the…

Within the play ‘Kindertransport’, Faith is the daughter of Evelyn, previously named Eva. She is unaware of her mother’s Jewish past and is the main agent in uncovering the truth her mother has withheld from her. As the play develops, more questions arise making Faith question her mother’s past. Faith is a persistent character who is highly inquisitive and is the only character to ‘push’ Evelyn to admit to the past she once had when living in Germany, making her highly significant in the play. Faith represents how the holocaust didn’t just affect those directly involved, the children evacuated and their families, but the following generations who still felt the impacts that the horrific event of the mass killing of 6 million Jews had on people. This is seen within the extract given as well as within the extract from Act 1, Scene 2 pg. 44 (FAITH: Don’t do this, Mother. You always do this. It only makes things worse’ to ‘Faith runs away. Lil follows her.)…
