Controversy Between Nature Or Nurture?
Let’s talk about the whole controversy between Nature vs. Nurture. Nature is based on DNA. Many people believe that it is DNA that decides on how humans will behave, what occupations they will have, and what their personalities will be like. Others, on the other hand, believe that it is the environment, or nurture, that decides on occupation, behavior, and personality. Although nature does decide on what color hair you have, what eye color you have, and what your height is, nurture has the greatest impact on humans and influences people the most to different kinds of activities, meet different people, and the difference between what is right and wrong. Nurture has the greatest impact on humans. For example, in a real life research done on …show more content…
Socialness is also mostly influenced by nurture. When one is isolated from the outside world, it is expected that they will feel awkward, or left out once put into a social situation out of nowhere. However, when one has been in touch with the outside world, socializing with various people, awkwardness is not present since their environment has been social for as long as they can remember. This is just one of many other reasons that nurture takes over in the debate of nature versus nurture.
A study by North Carolina State University claims that one’s environment can determine when gene switches will be turned on or turned off. Cancer is one example of this. For example, when one has excessive exposure to sunlight they can acquire skin cancer. This then shows how nurture has the ability to possibly change our genetic

Designer babies also have the ability to guarantee what one wants their child to look like or be able to do. For example, one can choose if one wants their child to be tall, short, handsome, ugly, fat, or skinny. Not only that, but one can ensure that one's child does not have any medical issues. No medical issues for some parents means fewer bills to pay for, and fewer things to worry about. For example, in GATTACA, Vincent’s brother, Anton was a designer baby. He was given the characteristics of a tall, handsome, smart, and athletic man. His life was already planned out for him and he could row up to be whatever he wanted to be. This is a positive thing for designer babies. But, Vincent was not a designer baby and had heart problems and other issues making his parents always worry about him. This is a downside of not being a designer baby. However, many might say that the designer babies are basically artificial. For some, it seems unnatural to pick what you want your baby to be. This is a negative effect of designer babies.
Many people believe nature wins, others believe nurture wins. Although nature determines one’s height, hair color, and eye color, nurture determines things much more such as behavior, health, and personality. Nurture, therefore, has the greatest impact on

Nature vs Nurture are studies that have been going on for years within the scientific community to explain multiple issues. Some studies will suggest that nature makes us who who are, meaning genetic factors are the major contributor of being who we are. These include what personality traits, intelligence, and emotional characteristics we will inherit from our parents. On the other side of the debate is the nurture studies, meaning environmental factors are the major contributors to shaping us into who we are or become. This include your upbringing, your lifestyle, home environment and the way someone was interacted with, taught or treated as a young child.…

Therefore, it would be a true statement to say that nature has some degree of influence, nurture also strongly influences early and further human…
